Dave,

here are a few pics of those shock mounts. I have always had plans for a full fiberglass front end, so I never changed them.

Methanol will change how it sounds for sure. Much more exhaust flow on methanol over gas too.

Cool

So a couple of pics with the 500's installed. Have some bad news and good news. After switching to the 500's, we could not get the car to run again. Well at least run correctly. After wasting many hours trying to get the Stock PCM and HP Tuners to work right, I gave in to defeat. I ordered the Holley Dominator EFI with the NKT methonal WBO2, LS2 harness and boost controller. It was in the plan down the road so what the hell why not do it now, its only money right?

Cool

Well took a month off working on the car to get my health under control (crohns aggervated from too much stress). So after chilling out on this project, I'm feeling better. Should be some updates to come ... really not a whole lot left to do, maybe a few weekends. Will post updates soon.

thank you.

Well Wiring for ECU is all done now, & Dyno day is scheduled for 9/18. Anyone have any guesses on what WHP it will put down (two factors to consider; mustang dyno and will be on slicks)? Guessing 20psi area.

I'll post updates as they happen.

Thumbs up Holley EFI - FTW!!!

Well we got the car running last night with the new Holley Dominator EFI and the MRE 500lb injector for the first time. All I can say is WOW, it was so easy and the learning in CL mode made me feel like I was cheating on an exam or something because it was so easy, lol. Set your target AFR's and sit back. By far the most user friendly tuning device I've ever used. Needless to say, I regret not going with the Holley System sooner and would recommend it to anyone.

Also one thing I'd like to mention, I used my Acer Iconia w510 Tablet (10.1") with the Holley EFI and connected and synced with no issues at all. The ECU is on the new V2 and tablet is the regular windows 8. I'm loving the display and was less than 1/2 the cost of the touch screen Holley sells.

This car is going to make some insane power! What times are you shooting for?

You read correctly. I do have to thank Adam @ S&M Motorsports (Cleves Ohio) for throughing together a base global file for me. It was late last night so we didnt run the car but 5 or 6 mins. I can honestly say I was suprized how well it idled on the 500lb injectors (not to mention after only running for 60 secs or less), not much different than the 80's did (which is just crazy). The CL Learning was cool to watch, as I gave it gas you could watch it changing the fuel table #'s to match the commanded 4.5 AFR at idle and just above idle.

I really am not sure what the car will allow as far as times. What I mean by this is the suspension has not be updated. It is as follows:

Front susp: stock 1987 v6 springs and old Koni adjustable shocks (stock lower a-arms, Speedway uppers)
Rear susp: Stock 1987 v6 springs and stock replacement shocks (Metco upper and lower CAs) This year a double anti-roll bar.

The car did a 1.37 last yr (650whp) without the anti-roll bar (just a rear ATR sway bar). So with all that said, I'd like to see low 9's ... high 8's not stepping on it too hard. Car will be 3850lb race weight this yr (yeah its a pig).
