i put 8lb springs in there for our test runs.
getting all the turbo oil feed and drain stuff tomorrow hopefully.

gunna have to pull down the turbos and re-clock them a tiny bit, and attach the feed and drain lines then also..

gotta pull the trans out, and have my friend build it, hopefully he has time this week to do that for me. he had a unexpectedly busy weekend with some family issues.

ill be at the parker hydraulics store tomorrow staring at the walls for a while haha.

maybe if we get enough of the oil stuff done before the tranny can get done we will fire it and warm it up just to hear her yell.

Thanks, was just wondering as I am throwing a 10-13 psi setup on a h/c/i (5.3 stage 2.5 heads, milled so like 10.5ish to 1 comp) and was wondering what plugs to use.

tr6 's have always worked good for me. Matt looks like you busted tail this weekend! that thing should be running soon. Hopefully I crank my four door Fairmont this weekend it went from straight six to turbo 6.0 in two weeks fastest build I've ever done. Just trying to keep up with y'all guys up north. haha!

yeah i would buy a TR6 and gap right to 28 or so for what you are trying
if you have them search 4177 at a parts store it should come up

R5724-7 or R5724-8 is what I would use in a build like this with my preference being the R5724-8.

That is a projected tip -8 heat range taper seat plug. I know, I know it's a projected tip....BUT it's a -8 heat range. We've found in boosted street cars the non-projected tip plugs in anything colder than a -7 like to foul out around 2-3k miles, and the projected tip in a cooler heat range does not. The projected tip seems to help keep the carbon from depositing as quickly on the plug and not being able to be burnt off while the -8 heat range keeps everything nice and kosher in the combustion chamber.

possibly a combination of everything haha
i can stand on these intercooler tabs i welded in there.
and this stuff looks terrible but none of my other kits have ever cracked or had problems years after welding them together.

i am sure if i ever spent the time to prep.
if i ever took any type of welding class,
maybe if i had any instruction or help at all.
if there was a working gauge on the gas valve on the welder.
if it was 220 instead of 110, if i had a work bench to weld in instead of crouched over the floor. if i took the time to do all that instead of just wanting everything done 2 weeks ago.

i might do a decent job haha

i thought one of my welds was really great looking there, or was that still shitty too?

this guy, i thought this was pretty good hahah

oh well, i never claimed to be an artist.

No that weld looks good. I guess that i was wondering why you dont care to make them all look like that. The equipment part makes sense though and I understand wanting to have it done.

I guess it's when the conditions are right I can weld Awesome.

I just don't know how to consistently get that out of what I'm using

Giving Hot Rodding back to the people! Love it.

Curious to see how long this setup lasts and the power potential.....

You guys know what out of position welding is? Have you ever welded a G4 upside down while laying in a swamp? Out of position welding is a lot different than standing at your work bench MIG welding a piece of 1/8" steel. The point is, sure its easy to get great welding results when all conditions are ideal. But when the chips are down and you have liquid molten metal dripping on you while laying underneath your car, your final product my not look as pretty as it could.
