Nice, I love reading your threads. one thing I noticed is your map sensor, you should mount it with the nipple facing down. with the nipple up, it can collect moisture and the sensor could act funny/erratic.

Gear puller teeth go inside the balancer. Outside can mess up the belt grooves. There is a reason for the three little pads in there.

i know what you mean about using the right tool for the job,
but this tractor supply 3 jaw works great, i never have issues, and we have pulled like 40 balancers with it and hammered them all back on lol

today i got the hardware store **** to space the fuel rails.

its a half inch nylon spacer, and then i took pics of the exact parts i use since people have asked what the hell i used before, a one inch long bolt, and a half inch spacer, works great.

then i installed the ls9 gaskets, 317 alum heads with pac1218 springs, and then cut off all the injector clips and soldered on the junkyard ev6 connectors.

ready to build a turbo kit saturday!

Subscribed for the end result Matt. Would you ever consider putting L92's on the stock LQ4 just to see how much more...or less power they made than the 317's, stock intake aside?

i would consider it, but only if it came with a intake and it was cheap.

i doubt its worked for the last 100k miles

even the hose back to the radiator, completely clogged lol, i just dont want leaks, so i reinstalled it.

easier than fabbing something

Guy local to me is making at least 700+whp with a 4.8 in a full weight caged notch and I noticed he has all steam ports blocked.

He is not easy at all on this car mind you. He cruises it mostly on the weekend and he went through 2 sets of mt drag radials and almost polished off a set of Hoosiers also.

My last two stock bottom end cars had the rear steam ports blocked and I have yet to hurt a stock bottom end. It's all in the tune-up and fuel you use.

Do they help? I'm sure they do, but it's not the end of the world if you block them off.

yeah they are a joke, i always laughed when people told me THE MOTOR WILL BLOW! without this pinhole **** in the engine bay on the heads, get real lol

the fairmont had the 4 port and i kicked that motor all the time so what does that prove? lol

yeah i had the 4 port one my friend gave it to me with the ls1 intake so i used that, easier than fabbing or getting something else.
