Default Results with SD-concepts pulley set up.

I have a D-1SC with a 3.2 pulley. I used to see 7 lbs and get about a month or two out of the belt and idler pulley. I put his 6-rib kit on and now see 10 lbs. Same pulley. The belt shows no signs of wear at all ( been on about 2 weeks so far ) and is barely half as tight as the old set up. I am very pleased. Just thought I'd share this for the people having problems like I was with the stock ATI set up.

Cool i wonder how this would work with there 8 rib set up and if it would be posible to see 15-16 psi of boost with tis setup and not have to go Cogs. i was seeing 11 psi before with my MMS crank pulley and a 4" blower pulley. I was seeing 7 psi witht e 3.2" blower pulley also.

The Vette's don't seem to have near as many problems as we do. Obviously the way theirs are mounted runs off the serpintine belt which is self tensioned. The more research I do(especially looking at platforms other than F-Bodys) the more I realize belt grip isn't the problem, it's the tension. I've spoken to Scott at SD and he says he's gotten past the 15 psi mark reliably. Said he had one LT1 up there the other week that was pullied for 24 psi. They have similar bracketry and issues that we do. I think the 8 rib system will produce some great numbers.

Do they have a web page with pics of the setup and has anyone ever measured how much pressure the tensioner puts on the belt? Maybe someone needs to make a bracket to run a cobra tensioner. They run to 20+psi.

you can adjust the amount of tension you want on the belt.

there stuff works. now whether or not you will ever recieve the product is another story.

I have been waiting for my final crankpulley and belt for over 6 months now.

I have their 2 piece prototype right now that they said not to run hard since it's bolted together.

I have been giving them the benefit of the doubt until I now see them doing GP's and I still don't have my final product I paid for 6 months ago!

edit - just spoke to SD again and they are busting a## to make things right. thumbs up for that.

What type of adjustment do you have? Is it just a pulley with an adjustment bolt or can you adjust the spring pressure? Does that make sense?

spring loaded.

you back out a bolt, use there little tool to pull back the tensioner to the desired level then tighten the bolt.

so it's basically a manaully adjustable spring loaded tensioner, make sense?

Can you get a picture of the adjustable tensioner if it is possible? So did they say they are putting on less tension and getting less slip...? that to me makes no sense.

does this setup work with the MMS pullies 6rib setup? if so, what do I need to do for it? does it fit on the stock bracket or do I need to get a steel bracket/different bracket?

Looks like you get a lot better belt wrap with that setup

Good pics Heath.... in this pic i can see how it works the best.. alot more belt wrap.

I believe it does work with an MMS crank pulley...
This is right off there site.

6 Rib Spring Tensioner Kit
Our 6 rib 2" throw spring tensioner system uses 50% less tension than the stock solid tensioner. Less tension = longer belt life! Our system, capable of consuming 1 3/4" of the belt length if needed, also reduces the "Blower Rattle" at an idle. 6 Rib tensioner kit components are as follows:

6 Rib Tensioner

Small 6 Rib Idler

90 MM Adjustable Idler

6 Rib Belt

$350.00 + S&H

Oh and to answer the bracket question..... i have the steel bracket and i was told during my 45 min talk with them that they would rather use the stock bracket. They add another support for the bracket that mounts near the bottom of the block near the oil pan.

Heres some info on the 8 rib set-up.... right off there site
8 Rib Spring Tensioner Kit
Our 8 rib kit is capable of maxing out a P1SC blower at 700 + horsepower. This set up is better than the 6 rib because it includes a bigger crank pulley and wider belt that together provide more surface area to further minimize belt slippage. This kit also eliminates "Blower Rattle". The following components are included:

7.250" 8 Rib Crank Pulley

8 Rib Tensioner

8 Rib Idler

8 Rib SC Blower Pulley

8 Rib belt

90 MM Idler

$595.00 + S&H
