b16gsr 99 AW FRC Vette build, 5.3L, F1C, TR6060, Tick Performace,*6.29.13Update*

Flipped it over checked one rod and one main, looked normal. Did not pull pistons and do ring gap. This motor is just to get the setup running and see how fun a corvette can do with a 5.3 and a big blower.

Awesome to hear. I hope it holds up fine.

Me 3. Time is not on my side right now. I am headed to Texas Invitational Friday with turbotuner20v, so this puts work happening next week. RPM won't have the diff back until sometime late next week, and the trans won't be here until Tuesday of next week, and has to be shipped off to be rebuilt.

WOW I just found this thread. I am doing the same thing in my 02 TA. $300 5.3 with my F1c that was on my ls1. It should be running in a week. Gonna put her on 20lbs and see what happens.

Really curious to see the Power you make. Love the car. Think i seen it one day near Red Bridge?
Thinking of doing a similar build. I have a nice boost ready 370 solid roller that i was going to spray nitrous on but might sell it and try a budget build like your 5.3?

Wouldn't have been this car. It lives at my shop in Saint Joe. The 5.3 should make some power, we will see.
Got my good friend Brian's 442" F2R Cog Powered AW FRC picked up last night. Unfortunately the temporary belt netted us only about 2 miles of use. The new one goes on today. It is a nasty girl.
A quick snap of 2 AW FRC's resting in the shop.

Is there any disadvantage using a blower vs a turbo on the 5.3 due to its smaller displacement? Just wondering why almost all the 5.3's are turbo, just due to cost? Build looks great!
