Exclamation QMP 728rwhp Formula vs DLM 921rwhp Viper GTS

The video has now been posted by Underground Racing on their website: http://www.undergroundracing.com/video/video.htm

Of course it goes without saying, this was on a "closed course". The video turned out pretty dark (not my video), but basically what you can see is me spanking his ***! We raced on his terms, from a 35mph roll, and he blew the horn. We went until I shifted to 5th (about 150mph) and then I hit the brakes. By that time, I was out at least 4-5 car lengths on him. The guy was an arrogant *** and prior to the race, said I "wasn't worthy of lining up next to him in an old piece of **** firebird." Needless to say, he was a bit embarassed when we got back to the hotel and his buddies watched the video. They claimed I must have lied about my HP numbers (I even showed them the dyno sheets from the night before), or that I was running NOS. I just told him to take it like a man.

The blowoff valve sound you here on the shifts is the new HKS Sequential BOV. At the track the next morning, his car went a 10.30 @ 145. John Hennessey raced him in his Twin Turbo SRT-10 the night before I did, and beat him by about 1-2 car lengths. They said that video will be posted there soon also.

*They incorrectly list the race as "Turbo Trans Am vs SC Viper" And also incorrectly state the HP as being 775, instead of 728.

Who the hell would know what cars were racing.

Why did you beat him? Just a weight advantage?

Nitto Drag Radial 275/50/15's. The suspension works amazingly well considering I still have stock TQ Arm, stock struts, and 850 lb ft of TQ!

dang i cant see crap, which one was you the video camara car or the one being taped?

what were you trapping in the quarter Rob, funny how he traps 145 in the quarter and you beat him. usally that is what matters, especially if he has 200 something rwhp on you. did he have alot of tire spin, or what tires did he run? im sure your nittos were smoking to.

Very Nice.

Was the viper on pump gas? With 200 more rwhp and a lighter car that shouldn't have been the outcome.

10.30 @ 145 from 921hp? I'd be asking for a refund from whoever did the work on the Dodge clownshoe.

I can imagine the dialouge for this race...."More than you can afford buddy....Viper."

I posted this link on the Corvetteforum too. I know a guy who sold his beautiful Vert Vette for the an ugly bright Yellow Viper and I think he had the DLM TT kit put on it..some TT kit...not really sure if it was the DLM. I hate Vipers ugly *** clown shoe. That must have been the bomb smokin that guy.

No real spin problems from either one of us. We were both set up exactly as we were at the track the next morning (other than running street tires). There were no excuses made, he admitted to getting pounded, he only said that I should have raced "longer"...but I told him I let out AFTER I hit 5th gear. Being that I have 3.42's and he has 3.08's, that was his only complaint.

Keep in mind...even though he made 921rwhp, he only made like 850rwtq. Which is almost exactly the same TQ I make. Between the TQ and better driving skills, I think that's why the race went the way it did.
