Arrow Cheapest 1:1 BOOST Reference Regulator????

what is the cheapest way to do 1:1 boost reference on 2002 f-body???? currently have a brand new 340 fuel pump and it loses 1psi fuel pressure for every 1psi of boost, i ran 15psi and melted a piston, i turned the boost down on new motor to 6psi and still losing 6-7psi fuel pressure

Mallory 4305M is about the cheapest, "non junk" regulator I have found, and used.

You guys have to modify your system to get this on? I am wanting to jump on one but don't have a return style setup.

4305m here as well. Picked it up from Advance Auto online with a coupon code .

James, mine is on my stock rails. Just had to pick up a few fittings and I used the EVAP line as a return.

Your engine blew up because it is not tuned correctly. A 1:1 regulator is not a fix for your problem.

It is an advisable addition, but no matter what fuel system you have, the engine must be tuned safely to work with any parts that are bolted on to it and around it.

the tune has nothing to do with fuel pressure dropping. the fuel system does.... what is a tune have anything to do with fuel pressure dropping lol

I have 97 98 fuel rails with a return and a 1:1 referance regulator. Works perfect with the evap line as the return to the factory fuel sending unit. Id sell it for $150

Sure it does. If the pressure is dropping with boost, you would see that if you logged wideband data and saw you were going lean. You then compensate for the lean condition by increasing the VE table in those cells, essentially making the injectors stay open longer to get your fueling back in line at the lower fuel pressure. Is it ideal, no, but if you don't have an adjustable boost referenced regulator, it's what you have to do.

I'm running 15psi on a stock regulator for now, and my afr stays at 11.2-11.4 through the entire rpm range even though the fuel pressure is dropping not at the rail, but the working pressure is dropping due to pressure differential at the injector tip.

doesnt matter if the fuel pressure drops. if tuned correctly it will not burn down. i was running 18-20psi on a stock everything non return fuel system with a single 255 pump with stock pump piggy backing (but not hooked up) and meth injection. i didnt have a fuel pressure sensor, never saw the need. yes the fuel pressure will drop. this will only skew the ve % higher in the ve table and keep the injectors open longer. i was running the standard siemens 60lbers. my car was making all of 700rwhp easily. the issue here is the tune.
