Talking 427 Dart LS | Twin76s | OGG | 1300rwhp | 8.53@163mph

So I have had this car since I was 16 and I 25 now so its been a while. It started as a all stock base Trans am with 28k miles on it. Of course I couldn't leave it alone so I bought a forged 346 from LME, h/c, and FLT trans a year after I bought it.

Man I look young in this pic, LOL! This was first time ever taking a motor out of a car.

I swapped out the 243s and ls6 intake a few years down the road for a TFS215s and Fast 92mm.

I have always been a n/a nitrous car. Car ran well for 4yrs on this setup made 600rwhp on the spray. I was pretty happy with the setup , of course always wanting to go faster I turned it up one day at the track and I cracked the block on the juice.

Well I parted everything out of the 346 (summer of 2011) and I had a LS3 built. It was a high compression e85 motor with a big giant cam. The car made 550rhwp and it was running the same times on the motor as the old 346 and spray setup.

LS3 , TFS 245s , FAST 102mm , and big *** cam!

I was pretty happy except for one little hiccup. It kept missing and I couldn't figure out why. Well in the midst of the 2012 summer I broke two yella terra rockers and no idea why. Both intake rockers on different sides of the motor.

I chased this miss changing out everything I could think of, coils, plugs , wires, and even valve springs! Two tuners looked at it with no luck. So I got pissed and tore it a part. Well come to find out the motor lifted the #5 ring-land , the number 8 pistons wasn't clearance for the relector, and the bearings were shot to hell! I guess that is what I get for letting a no-namer my uncle convinced to build my LS motor.

Well before all of this I went to the LSX shootout in October and caught the TURBO bug. So I sold off all my parts and nitrous stuff and bought a pair of these! TC 76/68s journal bearing turbos, nothing fancy. I started selling and collecting new parts in November 13. The plan is twin turbo , ls dart next gen motor , custom kit made by LS1NOVA aka One-guys-garage.

Other purchase included FIC 2000s , two Precision 46mm wastegats , used radiator setup , eboost2 , PA Super Turbo K-member and two XPS 50mm BOVs.

Here is what is will be going in and on top of the new Dart Ls next gen block!
DragonSlayer crank with billet reluctor whee, Callies ultra billet h-beam rods , 6bolt TFS heads from BTR , comp trunion upgrade, and a custom cam by LiljonMotorsportSolutions.

The Dart Ls next gen block is on order but it looks like it won't be here for another month or so. I also have a Precision Metal Craft sheet-metal intake on order as well. It should be here by the end of the month, and I will get pics up once it comes in.

Some of the fabrication and mock so far done by LS1NOVA. All of the piping showed up this week so next week the fabbing of the hotside begins. We are going to use truck manifolds and stainless steel for the hotside. The cold side will be dual a2w froozen boost intercoolers recommended by LilJon.

Intercooler mock up!

Radiator support made and radiator mounted.

Hanging the turbos for placement. Going with 3.5inch DPs with a PA super turbo k-member.

Of course there is a lot more history with this car but that is quick overview of its life. I can't wait to break that 1000rhwp mark!

Looks more like it'll be at the very least 1300-1400rwhp range.

At this point I am not really sure but I am thinking a 4L80E , I still want this to be somewhat of street car. We will see when its time to decide.

I will be using e85 of course! The compression will be right about 10-1 .

I can't wait to see the cold side piping with twin a2w intercoolers. Hopefully I'll get ideas for my build.

Nice you and a buddy are at a race to finish their dart block! Question though, why run an intercooler ontop of e85?

Ill answer this for him.

Because it doesnt have a carb and we dont really care to run with 250+ intake air temps at 20lbs of boost. Just because e85 is used doesnt mean it cant benefit from intercooling.
