Is this Z06 experiencing detonation? (video inside)
Is this Z06 experiencing detonation? (video inside) This z06 is making the popcorn sound. I do not believe its exhaust related, because you can hear the power band dropping out when this occurs, and its on accel instead of decel which is normally where youd see backpressure pop.

Could it be traction control kicking in? I agree though, it does not sound healthy, and I wouldn't be romping on it like that if it were my car. I'd be data logging and chasing down the root cause of those misfires.
EDIT: after listening to the video again, it's definitely not traction control. It sounds like my car after I blew out the ringlands on #7 and smashed the spark plug and was shooting raw fuel out the exhaust. I wouldn't be driving it anymore if it were me, and most definitely wouldn't be posting videos of me blasting on the highway with it sounding like that.

Well, they took down the video, made it private. Guess he got plenty of hate. I warned him on his Youtube page to get the tune checked before doing any more aggressive driving or else he might not be happy with the results.
