Yeah that usually happens. I think the price of 6.0 stuff has went already around here. But this car gives me hope in my junkyard projects I build.

What volume are the combustion chambers?
CR is around 9;5-9;7, Its got stock 317 heads, with hand port job from me. 408ci LQ9. 239/247 cam at 624 lift, GT91 108AR. I was thinking my KR sensors stop working, but they pickup me banging on the exhaust! Just need to know im not hurting the engine. Wish I could see a timing table to compare mine with. Its in a 1981 TTA,4L80E 3600 stall, 3.08 gears, car weigh 4000lbs.

Is the motor in the nova pre or post 2005?

Are the 2005+ 6.0's that much stronger? Would you be just as comfortable leaning on an older 6.0?

The 2005+ motors have the beefier rods so they should be able to handle a bit more that the older motors

Stock48 I see you went back to Famoso and got it to run good. I am the one with the Burnt orange 67 Camaro in Limited 10.5 that ran 5.28@133.74mph that you came over and talking with. I was telling you my son wants to do his 70 Nova just like yours too. Keep up the good work.

He's running complete stock bottom with the newer stock rod, new stock rings gapped at 0.022 with arp head studs, 218/218/112 .570 cam
8.5 10 blt, 3.23, spool, and probably 33 spline and the original 275/60 MT radial, full cal tracs setup
Holley HP Efi, 2000cc FIC's, 4303 magnafuel, PG w 1.76, SC3000 or PY3400

From what I've read, the early rod will bend at 100hp less than this power level. Calcs put him at 1000+.

I've got a nova so I'm keeping close track on J's antics.
