Default Stand Up Radiator and Retain A/C?

Is it possible to stand up the radiator and still retain the a/c condenser?

I have a front mount turbo kit and only had about 1/8" clearance between the turbo and the radiator. thought that was enough but engine must torque enough and i have a hole in the radiator.

Retaining a/c is a must, can i simply put a shorter radiator in and stand it up? Will the a/c condenser still fit? If anyone has pictures and point me in the right direction for a radiator that would be very helpful!

I searched and I believed this is the thread he was talking about:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...up-7-21-a.html

I see one pic of the radiator and condenser but not a lot of info on it. sent him a pm to get a little more info on how everything works.

I have a kit for sale that will allow you to run a S400 T6 BW turbo and keep AC stock K member and sway bar. 90 percent is already wrapped. Its on the car in my sig pic to give you an idea of the turbo location, there are also pics of it in the for sale section, Down pipe needs to be re-wrapped oil got spilled on it when I moved a few months back so I had to take the wrap off.

You have to carefully bend the condenser lines to get the extra length out of them with out kinking them or breaking them.

I stood up stock radiator, condenser and kept stock fans. The ac line had to be extended and radiator lower support lowered but it fits.

I don't know why more people don't do what you did, seems like the easier approach then cutting the top support up and never having it look decent again.

Do you have a link to any pictures or explanation of how you did this?

The top is notched a little too and is covered by a modified lt1 radiator holder thing.

Might have pics on here somewhere but I could post some this weekend sometime.

Bumping this up. Was wondering if you were able to get some pics of that setup. I'm starting to research going FI with my car.

Ive stood up the radiator two different times. Both of these times involved cutting the rad support and welding in 1 inch square tube.

1. The first time consisted of a stock condenser and an aftermarket griffing rad. Clearance was ok, but could have been better.

2. The second time included a custom radiator along with an ebay universal 24x12 condensor. I built customer AC lines and crimped them. It provides tons of space and makes a lot of room. Even with a huge fan. I was able to squeeze my GT4088R in nice and high so the oil draines, with room to spare.

Does it retain A/C?

In my build i did not want to loose A/C or I wouldn't build it. What I ended up doing was cutting some relief into the cross member where the corners of the a/c condenser contacted it. if you go look at your car you will see there is an angled section in the cross member at either end. This holds the condenser over an inch away from the cross member. After i made some small relief cuts i pounded it with a hammer and moved them inwards. Weld and grind it all and it looks completely stock, however now I can pull the radiator and condenser further forward gaining the clearance I need.

I am using an lt1 radiator cover.

In my build no I nvr kept ac but lots of room for a condenser I nvr used ac before so I just removed it. My rad is tucked under stock crossmember and was still able to use stock rad hoses with a inline rad cap

Here's my setup. Still got to plumb in the lines but everything fits.

I cut my lower radiator support off and slid the whole thing forward about 1-3/8".

I notched the upper support a little and you can't tell that I cut anything.

I have about 3/4" between my radiator and the compressor side of the turbo (Turbonetics 7575).
