Default 1000RWHP F1 Procharger 6.0 Build

Needing some tips on what I should bore a 6.0 Iron block out to and internals to use for a 1000RWHP F1 Procharger build. List your recipes. Im looking for a good build that would be reliable on 93 pump gas. Engine will be going in a 02 Trans Am.

Thanks, Wes.

Use the search function. And there is nothing wrong with stock bore.

Up to .030 is good. Nothing wrong with ensuring the cylinders are true and that youll have a fresh ring seal. Espicially with boost.

not enough info honestly. street car? race car? f body? vette?

Shawn Strauss was running a 6.0 410 F1-R Trans Am with a glide at around 3200-3300 lbs running 7.90's or better. Not sure if it made the "number" but im sure it would have outrun cars that made more being that it was a wicked setup.

The vettes can do 1000 because of the drivetrain they have. Some people tap out the R and still dont hit 1000. if they do they are making some steam to do so. Compression will help a good bit. I saw a 60e WS6 @ heintz make 920's on an F1-A at 16.5 psi but it was running 10:7 compression. You can get away with that compression no problem with a good tuner and some E85. To gain a little extra power get a good intake like the pro flo or something similar. Have your heads flowed and have a cam spec'd by someone reputable to match those heads.

The F1-X is your best bet honestly. That thing will make 1000+ reguardless of the supporting mods due to the fact its pretty much an F2 with less parasitic loss. A good motor for that would be a 390-402 and still have plenty of cylinder wall left as far as the 6.0 blocks go. My $0.02

Street car, F Body 02 Trans Am. Car already has the drivetrain to hold 1000HP. It has the T56 6 Speed Stage 3 Transmission, Top Gun Driveshaft, and Moser 9in under it. It will have the F1A Procharger and 6.0 Iron block standard deck height with no bore. I was planning on a 408 Stroker build, but Ive seen post about 370s and other smaller cc builds with power adders making good HP. I would estimate my car to weigh around 3300lbs. Ive already purchased a 102mm LSX Intake, Billet Fuel Rails, and the 102mm Big Mouth Throttle Body with TPS. All still in the box.

I am running a similar setup with my dyno session happening around the first half of march @ shortuning. I do not expect to get near 1000 but you may get closer than me being that your 6 speed. The numbers wont matter though i just want to see what it does at the track. I have pretty much invested everything I can into making the setup make as much power as possible other than raising compression and custom spec'ing the cam to the heads. Other than those two things I really have left nothing unturned on the supporting mods. I am hoping for right around 850 through a stalled auto. you may get into the low 900's with a high CR and your lack of an auto. good luck. bob is the man for your procharger needs. If you want 1000 F1R may get you there. Unless you cog your setup, currently we cannot run the X blower. Chris (Aster) is supposed to be working on a 12 rib tensioned setup and crank pulley combo to get it to where we can. If that happens us 4th gen blower guys can surpass 1000 pretty easily. Limiting factor at that point will be the block.

Yeah true. Im sure Id be tickled with 900RWHP. Id just like to know someones combination or spec sheet they used to build their engine to hold that successfully with a F1A Procharger on a 6.0 Block so I could copy it. It's a winter project so Im not in to big a rush. Rather take my time and do it right the first time. Thanks for all your help =)

We used an LS2 block with the above build but it could easily be duplicated with an iron block. Callies Dragon Slayer 4.0 crankshaft, Compstar rods, Diamond pistons, Total Seal file to fit rings, our blower cam, ARP head studs, AFR off the shelf 225 heads, FAST 92 intake, Kooks 1-7/8 headers, 9.5/1 compression. We used the ProCharger GTO kit as the starting point in this CTS-V. The F-1A has a lot left in it, we were only at 12.4 psi of boost with this build.

We used a 6.0L block as the starting point in my old '99 Z28, basically used the same components that we used in the above V. We had my Camaro at 18 to 20 psi. Bob
