FIC2000 and E85 issues.
Posting for a buddy of mine..
On a buddies GTO. FIC 2000's, E85, external pump, 100micron pre-filter, 10 micron post filter. 940rwhp. 3rd set of FIC2000's in a year due to E85 gumming these up. Any of you having this issue with these particular injectors? 3k miles on this set, base fuel pressure is 58psi, 1:1 regulated up to 73psi. He gets about 3-4k miles out of each set then they stop spraying fuel.

If you keep the clean they are ok, but if not they will have this issue. We have a local flow bench so I can watch him clean them and flow them, the ID2000's will do the same thing. I switched to the siemen deka 220lb injector because of this issue, no issues with the 220's, they are a factory made injector, not a modified one like the FIC or ID's. The siemens are low imp though, but that doesn't affect me as I'm running a holley efi.

My siemens 80lb'rs have been in the car for 2 years with E85 and i haven't had any issues. Im switching to 160's soon and haven't seen or heard of anyone having this issue with them either.
Check the filters, if they are dirty then you can start looking at the fuel as the cause.

One big reason ID worked with Bosch to bring the id13000, those are a nice injector
The Bosch 1000s everyone sells dont have the issues the big High Imp. Natural gas 1600/2000 injectors do with corrosion/sticking
just search stuck id2000/fic2000 on google once, it will blow up

No, those are the 827. Look at the part #, last 3
Stay away.
Those are the same injector ID sold that had the fuel temp sensitivity and where recalled. They start loosing flow at increased temperature
It is sad how many sell that injector knowing the issues it has

I was told any of those 1600/160lb, 2000cc modified tall cng injectors and e85 is no good. one dealer told me he'd sell them to me but with no warranty. That's how many issues there are with them. Another said to clean them out anytime they would sit for a period of time. for that kind of money, no thanks. STAY AWAY!

I know of the High-Z Bosch 127lb @ 4 bar. It's a real fluid injector. I can get away with this on e85 and under 1000whp but I have plans to step up to an F1-X blower sometime which is why I went with the 2000's to begin with. Also I have some tweaks to make that will get me above my current 940 to maybe 975 tops.
Does anyone know of a real High-Z NON CNG 160lb injector?
