Default GT45 GOOD for rear mount?

Would this turbo work good for a 5.3 rear mount application. Im running my 2.5" true duals into a single 3" . And using 2" pipe for the cold side. I just want to have fun with it maybe 12-15psi MAX http://www.ebay.com/itm/150581666321?redirect=mobile

That turbo will work fine.

Your piping is way to big IMO. Esp with a rear mount. Spool-up will be horrible. I'd run 2" piping from each manifold to a 2" Y close to the motor. Then run 2" piping all the way back to the turbo flange. It's not an NA motor, don't treat it like one.

Funny you said that. I just replaced my 3" I-pipe with a 2" all the way back to my turbo. The guy at the muffler shop was like, "What the hell are you doing that for? That's going to make your car run horrible... " I was like, "Thank you for doing the work... " I didn't feel like explaining it all to him. Haha.
For what it's worth, I'm running the On3 76mm Ball Bearing Turbo. Unfortunately I just found a torn silicone connector between my charge pipe and intercooler, so I won't know the results in spool until I get that replaced. Should be a few days...

See this is something along the lines that I wanted to do
Collect both of the 2.5" pipes into a single 2.5" to feed the turbo. The exhaust system is barely 2 months old so I want to utilize as much old piping as possible.

Looks good, do that. Just use 2" piping or it will be a lag monster. 2" piping is cheap. Any exhaust shop should be able to do it. Don't even need mandrel bends.

Dude, I am so glad you said that. I was battling back and forth with whether to go from my 3" I-pipe down to a 2.5" or 2" pipe while at the muffler shop when I had mine done a week ago. I eventually, last minute, decided on the 2 inch. You just helped me sleep better at night. We'll see how the spool feels once I get my new coupler on.

From what I've been reading, 2 inch will support up to about 800rwhp comfortably. 2.5 will support 1000-1100. Is that about right?

2 1/4 works extremely well. This is the size of most stock exhaust systems. Ideally you want to keep the piping size to a max of 2 1/4 to keep the exhaust flowing fast.

Depends on the length and the amount of bends, but no I don't think your right.

Generally when talking about cross over piping

2.5" will support 2400hp
2.25" will support 1800hp
2" would support 1000hp.

With a rear mount you'll have a greater length and more bends so those numbers will drop slightly.

Or so they say....

I went with a small exhaust housing/wheel and 2.5" piping because I didn't know any better. My "spool-up" is garbage compared to what it should be...

I remember that thread now.... just couldn't remember the numbers. Hard to imagine 2" supporting 1000 and 2.5 supporting 2500! WOW! Ha!

Thanks!
