Interesting setup. I'll be curious to see how it works out in a T56 car. I saw he's going with a decent sized cam as well. I think it'll probably hit around 550 rwhp with that setup on 10 lbs....maybe a bit less. My LS6 cammed 5.3 on 11 lbs through a T76 made 540 rwhp on pump gas....be curious to see how well the cam helps this combo! May be my deciding factor in buying one lol.

I'd be more concerned with the fact your bolting the turbo direct to the chassis...which is connected solidly to the exhaust, which is solid to the engine.

Even if the engine is then bolted solid to the chassis, there is going to be a lot of expansion and contraction in those pipes. Something is going to fatigue and let go. If you have any sort of flexible engine mounts at all, then something will break very very soon.
I noticed that as well. Doesn't look like it'll last forever, even with solid motor mounts. You'll always get movement between the chassis and motor, along with the pipe constantly expanding and contracting with temp. I'd probably add a flex in somewhere at some point for peace of mind!

Little update. He's going to Tick to get tuned Saturday. Took some video of cold start up and idle. He just has downpipe dumped under the hood for now. He works out of town during the week and hasn't got it all done yet. He's gonna tie up loose ends after his tune.

Here's the video link. Its idling 10.8-11.0 afrs lol. Just a bench flashed tune in it now.

Listen to that cam... Sounds nutty! Overlap with that small turbine housing and high reving 4.8 may be an issue at high boost levels though.

If the owner isn't afraid to turn it up I don't think the turbo will run out of steam anywhere near the 500hp mark. I'm running the tiny 83/74 S475 with the 1.10AR t4 setup. Going by weight and trap (1/8th mile) I was around 840 whp mark at 24-25psi. Thats with a 5.3 wheezy 8.6:1 compression and 317 heads.

He currently has the cam from the N/A LS6 that was in the car. Not sure the specs on the cam but was a speced aftermarket for the ls6. He knows its not ideal for the setup but he is gonna try his luck with it before he spends any more money. Ill try to find out the specs and post em for the record.

We are guessing he will see 480-500rwhp at 8-10psi. Im not a very good guesser though.

Cool setup. Would running that turbo on a 5.3 be less than ideal? Where is the best place to get bw turbos these days?
In for results.
Nice build.

I recommend everyone to Forced Inductions for turbos.

I have stock fuel lines and rails on mine at around 800rwhp. Even the stock regulator. He has the same pumps as I do. Twin Walbro 340s. He has 80lb injectors whereas I have fic1000cc. That's the only difference. Im sure he will have no problems there.

Lot of it is luck. The other is conservative tuning.
