Default s366 4.8 Camaro 6speed, Steven Sigmon

One leaves and another comes in. Steven Sigmon, a friend here in Statesville brought us his car to get the merge pipe fabbed in and turbo mounted and braced. Turbo is going in the battery location. Steven says he will be doing the cold pipes and the downpipe so our only responsibility now is to fab the merge pipes and mount the wastegate and turbo.

This should be a fun street car. S366 Borg Warner from Forced Inductions T4 with .91ar. Will be running a JGS wastegate. He is swapping the ls1 for a 4.8 and putting his ls6 heads on the 4.8 as well as swapping the cam out.

Frame we notched so the turbo could come closer toward engine. Notched part will be filled in with a stronger piece of steel.

Its pretty compact for a Borg but it should spool fast for some street/track fun. Customer isn't looking for big power, YET lol. Nobody ever is till they get a taste.

What kind of power are you expecting out of the little borg and 4.8?

He plans to stay around the 550 range for now. He's gonna tune on 10psi. Just on pump gas and no meth for now. He will add meth later and clamp that gate shut I been telling him lol. Boost is an addiction.

More progress from last night. Got the frame filled in with a piece of chromoly and the turbo brace made and tacked in. Now on to the piping tonight.

Brace finished. Merge pipe should be complete tonight if wastegate comes in.

Just tacked together here.

That looks really good man. I know there is obviously a size difference between a S300 and S400, but do you think this same setup would have worked with your S475? I am swapping to a S480 and want to put it in the battery tray. Would a 4" downpipe run through the k-member and be able to sneak by the hot pipes? I have a turbo k so have a lot of room.

Not sure man. Ill look on my lunch break when I go home. I know you would probably have to position the s475 a little more toward the engine and possibly cut frame totally and weld a bar in instead like ive seen a few people do. My turbo is quite a bit larger than this one. I look and see about the downpipe deal to.

Thanks for the info. I am trying to decide how I want to cut my frame to be able to put the S480 in there.

There is plenty of room for whatever size downpipe you can fit through the kmember with the way the merge pipes are.

Thanks man. He's gonna dump it out driver side of front bumper lol. He's gonna handle all the rest himself. We finished our part tonight and bolted together for pictures. I'll post them up tomorrow.

Long as everything else is in line that little 66 should make some serious steam on a 4.8. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see it crack 700hp.

Customer now plans to switch engines or at least get started on it over thanksgiving holiday. He has ordered his cold piping which he will be doing his self along with his downpipe which will be bumper exit on the drivers side. Here are the final pictures from last night. I may upload so more today since these were taken at night.

Looks good. It will be interesting to see results with that S366 on that 4.8. Just seems like a small turbo to me as most use two. Bet it will be squirrely though.
