Looks like your ready to go. What is your handle on HBZ?

That's one of the bad things about CA. If you want to play with cars, they have to be old ones.
I just laid down under the back end of mine and took some better measurements. 42 5/8" between the wheels with 1" clearance between the tires and the inner wheel wells. Enough room to slide most of my hand between the tire and outer fender. Might not be that hard to put more tire in there. The 255's fit inside now.

Seems like you could fit a 275 if you want to.

Update. The car has a solid 300 miles on it and all seems well. Once I find time to wire in the boost controller I'll step it up. Right now it's a on A max of 8lbs and timing is a whopping 13 degrees in that range so it's a bit slow if you ask me. I will say though while on the road (3rd gear cruising) This thing literally has 0 lag. The power is INSTANT! The next update will be more power related but as of now I am enjoying the fruits of my labor.

The car is bringing A LOT of attention. Here are a few updated photos from this morning.

Looks sick with those CCW's. You have a lot of will power. I would have turned it up 299 miles ago. Ha ha

Thanks, Yeah I thought I would too but I figure it's making 450ish now and it's still fun to drive. It has a lot of torque down low. Plus it gives me the opportunity to work out all the BS. I still have a leak from the tranny somewhere that is spraying trans fluid on the exhaust and smoking under heavy acceleration. Crap like that keeps me from turning it up. I want it to be spot on before throwing a bunch of boost at it.

car looks sick man!

Be careful with the trans fluid, it can catch on fire doing that.

Thanks dude. Yeah I've heard it's pretty flammable. I need to just throw it on the lift and fix it already.

It is very very flammable.

I've seen a few cars go up in some at events due to PAS leaks.

I have an iron 347 and a On3 78/75 in the garage that was going to go in my 02 Formula. I think I've been convinced to get me a Z car instead though. There are a few in decent shape around here in the DFW area going for 3.5-4.5k. About how much does it require to drop the LS power train into one? Just all the mounts and stuff needed to get it drivable.

You'll get 100 times than attention in a Z car and likely never pull up to another one on the street. Yea they are old, yes they can be a pain in the *** sometimes dealing with old school technology and basically a coke can thickness unibody but it's all worth it in the end.

Word of advise if you plan to heavily modify the car ie. Turbo LS do yourself a favor and make your own mounts. The JCI are good mounts but a custom set will give you TONS more room. If you search for a member "SteepSS" and check out his build thread in this section you'll see some custom nouns he made that are really slick and simple. Good luck! And check out HybridZ.org there is an ungodly amount of info there.

It was SteepSS that first got me into them. I first saw his in a 1320 video back when it was a H/C LS1. Then you had to come along and make things worse lol. I'm hooked now!
I didn't follow his whole thread from the start, but I'll be sure to check it out more thoroughly for the mounts. I was considering getting rid of the turbo in favor of a Centri blower as I want to go with a 6 speed. However, I the 78/75 with a .96 AR turbine housing would have near instant spool on a 347. I've got another two months or so to decide, but I've been itching to do this for about two years now.
Post some vids of that beast in action already lol.
