Yeah the whole I6 thing helps it out. They are long as **** but not very wide.. Plan is next Friday. I'm going to drive the **** out of it on Sunday and really get some good data going. If it doesn't leak/over heat or loose oil pressure it's going to the track.

Honestly though I doubt I'll get any concrete numbers as I don't have a full roll cage.

Where did you buy the flares from?

I'll be getting the same 17x8.5 and 17x9.5 rotas for my car this winter to go along with the 8.8 IRS/LS swap.

Quality of the reproduction seems to vary a lot by vendor.

Edit: I saw this by trying to find the car after seeing it on the TX2k signup. I was down there in 2011 with a 450whp Evo and again in 2013 when the same car made 900whp. Eventually I'd like to go again once the 260Z is "done", probably in 2017.

ZG flares are common but vendor quality ranges. I honestly couldn't point you in a decent direction. I got rid of the Rotas a long time ago FYI I'm on CCW classics at the moment.

Yeah, I had been digging through this thread last night and saw when you switched. I was somewhat surprised that you can stuff such a big wheel/tire like you're running with the CCWs in the back without needing ridiculous looking flares or drastically changing the rear suspension.

I'm just trying to do things on the cheap at first. I was happy to see the pic you had of them showing that they fit like I expected them to.

I should start a thread for my project here, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to maintain the one started on hybridz after hanging out there some.

Yeah i was pleasantly surprised my self. The key is having the coil overs obviously. Most everyone told me it would look like crap without the Big flares but I'm glad i didn't listen. It looks great the way it is. Also HBZ is a dying website. The combination of old grumpy moderators and forum traffic taking a dive is taking it's toll.

It's kind of too bad. There is certainly some knowledgeable people there, but, the "search first" circlejerk is more real there than any other forum I've ever been a part of. It's pretty off putting to ask a question, be told to search, be unable to come up with exactly the right combination of keywords, then have the person who told you to search pull up the relevant result-when they could have just done that in the first place.

I actually signed up on HBZ 2 years ago when I first started looking for an S30 to see what to look out for. Once my business is done for the 8.8 parts I'll probably quit going there.

Edit: I request a picture of your car in the dark with the WGs open.

How loud is it with the dumps out the top like that? My Evo dumped right at the ground in the front and it was pretty loud inside the car when the WG was open.

My thoughts exactly. Il have a few pics once I hit the track I too had my dumps pointed towards the ground and honestly I can't tell a difference with them pointed up. Hell it might be more quiet. You'd have to take into consideration that my exhaust is pointed towards the ground and dumped right around where the door hinges are.
