Rear mount positives and negatives.
I'm not much into the whole rear mount community but I was curious as to the good and bad to having a rear mount?

Putting it at the back means all of your piping/lines have to be routed to the front.
Being further away from the engine means the exhaust will be cooler and take longer to spool the turbo.

pro- cooler charge due to the extra length of pipe dissipating the heat.
con- routing the extra piping/oil lines, and turbo lag. also watch driving in the rain. the turbo intake can suck up water if you hit a big puddle

isnt any lag if you do it right. mine spools faster then just about any front mount car i have seen. boost by 2-2200 rpm, response is nuts. Drive it in the rain no issues. However we tucked the turbo high and tight.

Sure, if a rear mount is done right, you won't have any issues with it. Going with a rear mount is a decision you have to make based on what you're working with.
If done right, it will work very well.

I love mine.
One more pro..... I get to keep AC and don't have to do much in the engine compartment. Engine area stays pretty much stock. Under hood temps may be cooler too.

Also, as is any turbo setup, if it is designed and tuned right... no difference other than location.

my rear mount spools instantly and makes allmost 900 whp.
the biggest problem with a rear mount turbo to me is oil control.
in a rear mount setup turbo selection is much more important then in a front mount

Is the oil problem with the return? Because the regular turbo mounts are controlled by gravity and the turbo is higher than the oil pan and the rear mount isn't as high? And what makes the turbo selection different?

I wouldn't mind seeing some screen shots/data logs of these instantly spooling rear mounts.
I've driven several and not one of them could compare to the response of a conventional turbo system. (part throttle most noticeably)

hard to compare apples to apples obviosly.
ttx kit on a forged 346 auto c5z06
built ls2 ttx kit auto c5
Built c6z06 with a ttx kit.
ls1 firebird single front mount 7675 6speed.
my single rear mount 7175 stock bottom 5.3. c5z06.
seems like mine spools better then some combos that should spool faster then mine?

This is only if you don't want to go rear mount.
