Oh and yeah, fuel through the blower would take up to 50% of the heat out of the blower. That would work well if you make it work
I talked with Mike about getting the Marine T/B and running it (with) the direct port injectors and it's going to e to much trouble. I'd have to out board the BOV and among other things so that plan is out. I have another call into him about adding water/Meth injection nozzles into the manifold area between the T/B and the rotors... I want to add two (see pic)> One each where my fingers are pointing. That will spray each rotor and "I think" lower my IAC a lot... We'll see.

Running meth through the supercharger will definitely cool everything down a bunch. If you're only using meth to cool the rotors and not so much to control detonation, you would probably be fine with one nozzle in my opinion. But over never used meth so I'm not too sure.

Bondobird,
Any special adapters to get the gt500 crusher intake on the sand rail kit?

No adaptors needed. Just a different discharge plate. Only difference between the two discharge plates is the bypass location. We even make an adaptor to run our elypticle throttle body on the crusher inlet. If it's too much trouble to run the billet inlet on my car, I'll run the gt500 inlet to make things easy.

I made all the parts on my drive except the damper, ATI made that to my specs. I moved the belt back as far as possible while still fitting -12 lines into the intercooler.

Hey 427, what size exhaust pipes do you recommend? 3"? 3.5"?

I would run the 3.5, should be good for what we are doing.

Very nice build. What is the dimensions of the 4.0 or 4.5 height wise. I have a '67 Chevy II that I will squeeze one into.

The problem I might have is the rear inlet, is the front option a custom order? Tried looking on Whipple website and didn't come up with much info when I tried selecting the drop down menus. I would like to 700-800 rwhp. I am trying to read as much as possible before I step into the FI world.

My plans are to bore a 6.0 .030 to a 370cid. I have a set of RHS 225 as cast cathedral heads. Should I ditch them for a set of LS3 factory heads? One last question, what are you using as far as front drive accy. Does it come with the kit or have to be purchased separately? Thanks for the help and guidance ahead of time.

The 4.5 case is 6.625 tall the the 4.0 is just a couple of mm shorter. I don't remember off the top of my head how tall the discharge plate is. I'd guess either blower will stand a sold 8.5" above the intake manifold. I'll find out for sure tomorrow.
The website is new and is still being worked on. All of the info is making it there soon.
Both 4.0 and 4.5's have the billet rear entry inlets and the gt500 crusher inlet options. The gt500 inlet is best for if you're afraid of clearance issues. The front feed inlet is only an option for the 2.9l supercharger. Although it'll be spun harder and close to its limit, it is well capable of making 800whp.

Any updates on you engine? I'm getting close on mine (with a mock up engine)... About another week or so. Post progress pics if you have them.

Not much going on at the moment. It's still going to be a slow process. Maybe this time next year it'll be up and running. Possibly sooner. I'm just taking my time to do it right.

Just a little side note on this thread, I think I've come up with a pretty good cooling system for the 4.5 whipples. I've done a little bit of testing and so far it works great. Street/strip application.

PS: You can use the taller LS1 injectors on these blowers too. Just have to do a small mod to the intercooler cover and fab new fuel rail stands.
