Default 80/96 billet wheel race cover from FI on a 408 will it work

What you guys think about a s480 with a 1.10 ar billet wheel and race cover on my 408. New to turbos and already bought a gt4788 with a 96ar and Jose says no good. So I don't want to make the mistake again. Thank you in advance

1.10 is gonna choke on a 408. I'd check out their new S484/96 billet wheel on a 1.32. That is supposed to be the new bad bitch turbo from Jose...

Ok thank you. I will call Jose today and see what he can do. I would like to find a deal on a used unit, but man there is always someone with the "perfect turbo" then someone else says, it will choke LOL.

Thanks for the input

Its a good turbo but look into the 1.32AR, as coolman mentioned the 1.10 could have back pressure issues.

AR housing does not determine back pressure as much as the turbine wheel size. Personally if your wanting to make 1000-1100rwhp and have good strong low end then that turbo is the perfect choice.

Yea that is what I am wanting to do. So I need to make sure the turbine is on the larger side with my 408?

1.10 would choke on a 4.8, same as it would on a 408.....just depends on how much power you make. You've stated no requirements for power or ET/trap, so no recommendations can be made.

Let's says s480 race cover and billet wheel with a 1.10ar on a 418ci with mid 8's as a goal

Cam it to turn a max of 6500 rpm and itll be ok... the 1.10 A/R kills about 6 lb/min of exhaust flow over the 1.32....

Buying the turbo used... ok... yea i can see doing that...

If you are buying the unit new... stick with the 1.32 or 1.58.

Yea it was used and priced really good. I have your turbo stage 3 camshaft. I was considering just getting the diffrent exhaust housing but unsure if it's worth it at this point
