Default 2002 WS6 6spd, huron speed kit car i tuned yesterday

got to check out this huron speed car yesterday

2002 ws6, 6spd, stock LS1 just a cam and springs (brute speed blower cam)
full exhaust out the back, precision 7675 turbo, 3 inch piping, 4 inch IC core, and i converted it to 3bar SD with hp tuners, car has twin 255 Walbro's in the tank and 60lb injectors.

on 12# and 12deg and 12.0 afr it nailed down 625whp pumpgas and no methanol

i left it go there for now, he might do some more boost and methanol in the future but i am unsure how much these LS1 cars can handle power wise really, alum early blocks scare me lol

anyway i got some video of it

he said the kit fit great and huron speed was great to deal with as a customer very helpful etc in case anyone was wondering haha

I can vouch for this car. I helped install the kit and the fit and finish was excellent. He had an issue with the down pipe initially but one phone call and a new down pipe was on its way. I cant wait to go for a ride/drive in the car then I will be able to give some first hand reviews on turbo vs procharger. Great work on the tune on this one Matt Aaron is very happy with it!

I've seen a few cam/procharged LS1's hold 700rw (with meth) for a few years without issue. Kinda luck of the draw and how well you maintain the engine I suppose. It's amazing to see what Ls1's are pushing out these days with the help of booooooooooost

With your good tuning Matt, im sure it wont be an issue. Of course, it is something to worry about anyhow.

Mine has been happy at over 600whp for what will be its 3rd year. Going for 800+ soon, he'll be fine with some meth. Keeping the rpms low is key.

Damn! That thing really screams. Good numbers for a fairly conservative tune too!

Out of curiosity, if it was an iron block and you had the required fueling (ie bigger injectors) where would you normally feel comfortable leaving the tune without meth, Denmah?

Would the iron block make you feel comfortable running more boost, timing, both? Or is it the fact that it doesn't have meth/race gas that made you leave it there.

Great numbers!

Will you be putting this tune on your Wiki page by chance? I have a similar setup that i've got a base tune on that i'm having a hard time dialing in

here is the tune file, we didnt do all of the drivability yet but he has been driving it around and it pounds out 600 problem free for now haha

i also have not scaled the timing table yet since it just over runs it, when we go higher boost we will scale it more.

just some things to remember. but here it is!

Very similar to what my old camaro made with a 7875, 10lbs and 15 degrees of timing on pump 91. I added a cutout later on which picked 2-3 lbs of boost and lowered the timing to 12 degrees. I was seeing 190ish kpa (base is 81 kpa where I live) and 95% duty cycle with the cutout open.

I can send this tune to anyone who is interested, it ran perfect and targeted 11.7 in boost.

I was going to make a thread tonite on my car but Matt beat me to it.
Car feels really strong at 10-12 lbs. pulls like a freight train 3-4 couldn't really open it up anymore going home, didn't have the roadway to do so.

I plan on getting a boost controller and adding my meth kit to it and letting it eat!! The switch for my cutout took a **** so we were unable to open it up and see what it would pick up hp wise. Next time we gonna turn it up and see make kinda power this stock Ls will hold

Nice setup. I've been kicking around my next swap to be to either an F1 or a Huron kit, but I'm looking to make north of 800+.

Where is your shop Denmah? I'm in central bucks county.
