Default S10 377 Ram S480

Did the LQ9 swap 7 years ago. With milled and hand ported 317 heads and 11:1 comp. stock truck intake, stock exhaust manifolds and 234 242 114 cam. It went 1.68 60' 11.9 112mph. 3665# race weight ( DA 3800' ). E85 tune and 5.3L heads milled .060" went 11.8 at 113.9mph. Same 1.68 60'. All runs were at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Mayem NO PREP track, not even water.
Bored the LQ9 block to 4.070 and used Mahle LS3 pistons 10:1, the stock crank 3.62 and Ported GM LS3 Heads with the Holley Hi Ram and 234 246 115 .625 .625 precision camshaft. Purchased the Hoosier 315 drag radials to see what the motor can do first on 8/22/14 at LVMS. Purchased the Borg S480 1.32 from Smeding to start the turbo build. The thread that Hellbents10 posted really got me going on this project, hood exhaust exit, no intercooler and all. Here are some pics to get things rollin.

just curious, what are you planning for the hotside? custom headers or log manifold or a stock gm manifold? I have a first gen that has a 5.3, and im starting my hotside, but the steering shaft clearance is pretty tight.

At first I wanted to keep it simple and run a log on the pass. side. Now I'm going to try making the headers.

The turbo arrived today. BW S480, the fun begins. Its more like an S475 machined for the 80mm wheel.

Default Progress on the S10 10 - 19 - 14

Built a log manifold and moved the ECU to the inside. Cut a turbo relief in the hood. Working on the x-over next. Hood exit or fender exit 5"? Decisions.

Got a few more things done today. Had to cut the hood for the K&N air filter and started on the fender exit. It always seems an hour away from driving, then another hour goes by.

Installed a SuperTrapp tip to quiet it down. 3 allen screws and its off. The tune is going slow. So far 1# at 4500 and 10.3# at 5300 to 7000 RPM. Timing is 22 at 1# and 16.5 at 10.3#. All at 56% throttle. lol .. The 3.73 gear, 25.7" tall tire and 350 trans, is going to be changed soon. I am thinking 3.08 gear, a glide and smaller camshaft.

Cool build man. Good to see another member from Las Vegas too. I'd love to see it in person some day if you head out to a car meet or anything.
