Default Help me diagnose this :)

Took the car out last Friday night for a large local meet and cruise. While making a 3rd gear pull the car felt normal, shifted into 4th and felt it start to miss so instantly let off only to see smoke bellowing out the back.

Luckily I was close to home so I made it back there quickly. There was zero loss in oil pressure, no oil coming out the exhaust or under the car, and do not see any sign of metal at all in the oil. But when you start the car it instantly smokes like crazy out of my catch can and there is a milky/sludgy oil in the can.

Thoughts? Ringland? Head gasket? I haven't done much to look the car over yet to be entirely honest and I had planned on doing a forged build this winter regardless so not the end of the world just looking for some insight on what you guys think I should expect to see when I tear it down

sounds like a head gasket to me. should find one steam cleaned spark plug if you pull them. or do a compression check.

I had planned on doing a full forged build on it this winter regardless so no big deal as long as it didn't take out a sleeve

I'm thinking it's a ringland for sure but the water level is down a few inches from normal. I haven't had time to start tearing it down yet but hope to start ripping into it this week.

Most common reason for #7 "cylinder" failure is heat. Those of you that had issues, were you guys running steam port plugs in the rear of the heads? If so I bet $20 that's your issue. I actually run 1* less timing in cylinder number 7 just for good measure.. Also I have a 4 port steam vent system.
