Default STS kit showed up today

So I got a new sts kit in the mail today. I'll be putting it in, probably around March to April depending on the snow because of Michigan lol. I was wanting to know if you guys had any little tips on installing this kit. I skimmed through the directions and it looks pretty darn simple. So it shouldn't be an issue. Well guys happy early new year.

Well my fiend has installed a couple in the mid Michigan area. And he told me they are great. And the instructions are about 100 pages. Step by step. And everything that's showed up. Looks nice and it was packaged really well.

If you want a humble opinion, send it back and get a refund before you start. Call up Jon at Huron Speed or Casey get one of their front mount deals and save yourself headaches and bandaids...

Best of luck on your project....

They are fairly simple to install. I'm actually surprised they still sell them for the 4th gen. haven't seen one in almost 7 years.

I would agree with this. You are going to think the sts kit is cool for about the first day, and then realize that it is WAY down on power for being a boosted LS setup.

I'll be happy with it. It's going to meet my wants so I'll be okay. I don't want to replace a k member or move my radiator. This was the best option for what I wanted. But as always, I do like the feed back from you guys. No bs just honesty, that's why I love this site.

And plus if I refund it. It's a %20 restocking fee. So almost a grand would be lost lol.

Huron speed kit you dont have to relocate or remove anything. They even sell a a/c retaining kit as well. Radiator stays intact, alternator stays in its olace as well even the sway bar stays now. I want to say you can even use stock k-member.....

EDIT: just went and looked and it indeed keeps everything in the factory location with factory k-member and for a kick *** price. Can use factory k-member with both the non a/c and a/c retaining kit

Seriously?????
Now I'm pissed off, I swore I read that I would need a turbo k member and a Ac relocation and to move the radiator. Well, it's too late to return this sts kit. I really don't wanna lose $1k. Well at least I've heard good things about the newer sts kits.

Before you get too pissed...it looks like the Huron Speed kits require an aftermarket K-member unless you run your exhaust out the front bumper. That's not really an option for some of us in states where we have yearly inspections.

Well that makes me feel better. I like to drive my car and enjoy it without always being hassled by the 5-0. And anyways, I'm happy I got the sts kit. It'll do what I want.

Run with the sts kit and see how you like it. I have a 98 Sonoma with a 5.3 /4L80e with a middish mounted on3 76/65 turbo right behind the cab on E85. I researched remote turbo setups a ton and custom built my setup.I get 0 lag and its completely retarded when it comes into boost. Most people that talk down on remote turbos just dont know what the hell they're doing. You may want to tweak the kit a bit though, such as fully wrapping your exhaust in DEI heat wrap and eventually upgrading the turbo.
