Default First fire of Alchemist 3.0.

Well, today I finally fired her up. I really need to thank Kyle Thompson @ Thompson Motorsports. If it weren't for Kyle, I probably would have sold the car as a roller back in October.

There are a bunch of things i need to do before I can drive her, but at least I know she's running. Took 3-4 tries to get the startup to learn, but once it did, it fired right up and idled great. I have the idle at 800 in this video and it sat there without a hiccup.

Well, first hiccup. The rear steam ports are leaking, so the intake needs to come off.

I got the intake off and sure enough, the steam ports were leaking. I got them tightened, but decided to call it a night.

I connected the rear two ports together using this. The ends of the line going into the blocks was loose on each end. So I retightened it, and re-installed them.

I knew something was up when I couldn't pull a vacuum on the coolant system yesterday.

Sounds great Brien. Won't be long now and it will be off to get tuned/dyno'd. You've put a lot of time into this build, and it's going to result in a fun spring/summer.

very cool , on a side not do you have any pics of how your piping is run by the fuses . i see the one fuse box but not the other.

I got my fmic all sorted out but i like how yours comes off the tb and then goes down to a 90 degree. Just curious how you got it to fit .

Sucks on the steam ports. It is always something simple like that, that will ruin your day. lol. But congrats on getting it going. That's always a good feeling.

I have a 45 degree bend going through the hole behind the driver's side headlight. I really want to redo it and put in a 90 instead and will do that sometime this summer. The second fuse box is there, just shifting around and moved out of the way.

As much as I double, triple, and quadruple checked things, I knew there would be some hiccups as I'm one person, doing this a little at a time, with plenty of distractions from kids and family life. So to have the steam ports leak a little isn't the end of the world. I was able to get the intake removed, the line tightened, and intake back on and the car restarted yesterday with no issues.

I also figured out my non-charging problem. The exciter wire connector wasn't getting voltage to it. I clipped the harness off, stripped the wire, and sure enough, 10.5v. So I bought a new harness and will solder that in place.

This week I want to work on getting the exhaust sorted out and installed. Then I can take the car for a cruise around the block.

No, thank you Kyle. I'm not kidding, if it weren't for the phone calls, emails, IM's back and forth with you, I probably would have sold the car last fall.

You were a pleasure to work with and I will continue to recommend anyone who asks to go to you for work.

I'm at corporate America too, I guess they are just less strict with websites.

I'll try to post some more pics here as well.
