Default Major Problems with car!

Help I took my WS6 to the local 1/8 mile track and it only ran a 7.83 at best at 94 on a 1.90 60'. It will not get into boost or do anything in low gear. The previous owner said he could do 1.50 60's footbrakeing. And Ive personally seen the car run 10.30s in the mid 130s. Could the tune be that bad off where it wont do anything now? Or the converter be bad, on the transbrake it wouldnt even leave hard. The air was pretty good tonite so i dont think that was it. It runs like a bastard when it hits 2nd gear on the highway, it just pulls very hard. So what gives help me out.

Does it run strong thru the gears but not off the line?

Maybe the TPS went bad, I'd swap it from another car.

Yea..either that or the muffler bearings. Or maybe he should just start replacing sensors one by one until it's miraculously fixed.

Personally it sounds to me like it's too rich down low, making it hard to build boost off the line. Which could be in the tuning, but who really knows without more information.
It could also be pulling timing on the line due to either real or false knock. That will KILL power.
Or one of a hundred other things.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't that car have a wideband? If so, what was the A/F at the line and after it cleaned up going down the track?

Ummm whatever Rob.

When Scott posted the same symptoms before I suggested he look at the TPS readings. I saw car a few years ago do the same thing, car took off like crap and then was a rocket in higher rpms, bad tps. Not saying that this car has it but I don't think that Scott changed the tune on the car this year.

Rob i tried to reach u on ur cell tonite to ask u but couldnt get an anwser, I want to buy the E-dist box and other box this week and get tuned so this thing will really move. But it moves on in 2nd gear. I have no idea what the car has tuneing wise. They said it was spitting fire out the tail pipes when i was doin my burnout. This thing is just a dog right now and I really like to get it all lined out. Thanks Justin

I was in Bowling Green all day today and my cell doesn't get service there.

Spitting flames out the tailpipes is DEFINITELY rich. Could also be as simple as needing a new set of spark plugs. Or a TPS

I seriously doubt it. We are SLAMMED right now. Give me a call Monday at the shop so I can check the schedule.

I'm going to bed now...

Just plug a scanner in to look at the T.P.S. data, its easier than changing it. Somewhere around 1 volt at idle and it should slowly go up consistantly until its around 5 volts at WOT. You would most likely get the service light and a code if its bad.

i'm with rob and its your tuning, not the tps sensor. if cars were that easy to troubleshoot online i'd be rich.

Doesn't that car have a FAST? I have never tuned one but I know they have a built in scanner that should log the wideband too. You have a laptop? You should ahve it tunning - especially if you just got the car.

Does anyone else notice how posts get hostile when a certain person is in them? I can almost see that big shoulder chip down in Indiana from here...

You need a way to scan your car ASAP. I would not DREAM of running these cars with FI and no way to monitor things.

I didnt not get the fast software with the car. It was suppost to me mailed to me. So no way for me too look. I was told there was no changes in tuneing since i seen it in Bowling Green, only changes for the car was a griffen FMIC. And thats not gonna hurt it. I just dont understand why it wont run like i seen it run.

You might want to try giving the Cartek (maybe even the Eastside) guys a call. They know that car very well and may be able to give you some advice.
