You need a TIG welder with A/C capability. Ensure there are no gaps and it's clean. A rule of thumb for heat is 1 amp per mm of thickness. Example is .125 thick will use 125 amps. You can use less amperage to give you time to control the puddle, but it also heats up the rest of the material which can/will induce warping if applied too long and without a good cool down period.

I think you got the unit of measure crossed up... the rule is 1 amp for each .001" (thousandth) inch... not mm.

Nice build buddy, I got my LS1 out of my little 98' Tacoma (Sleeper) that looks totally stock, had trans issues so pulled the whole drivetrain.

Now I am contemplating of going back to turbo (the 2RZ 2.4 Toyota motor before was making 450hp @ 26psi) but now with the LS

The truck seemed slow after the LS swap, and going to build it now and was wondering about your exhaust setup, probably missed it skimming over the thread but did you use reversed truck mani's? Seems that is the most compact setup available and with my setup space is at a Premium!

Great setup, love the minimalist approach! Nothing like beater mini truck that blows the wheels off just about anything huh? And I also really miss the sound and feel of boost, I think its truly an addiction!! Help, lol!

I really dig the tablet dash! Much, much cheaper and easier than gauges, but how responsive are they?

Given the oil system related glitter bomb that happened in one of the Fairmonts, is is possible to set up the gold box to cut fuel/spark if the oil pressure drops below a threshold?

Ideally threshold vs RPM I guess.

Might not be enough to save bearings but may save rods etc.

Hey Matt, went on the Wiki page to look at the alternator wiring to see how to make it work but it says it was removed by you. Can you explain if it works or why you removed it please?
