Curious for you to report back on how they work.

I showed them to a buddy building a late 90's exploder. We were talking 4-link but if this works good he should just go that route.

Awesome numbers!

How many degrees of timing was the 20lb pull on?
Also is the fuel 91 or 93 octane?

FWIW you can use a 3 port in a similar way if you plumb it correctly.... quite a bit cheaper solenoid too. I can run base spring pressure and still hit the same peak boost as a 4-port would. Using MS3 as well. Need to run a tiny pin hole in the top line to vent is all...

i was able to easily swing 5-20lbs under 70% duty cycle today but now i have a rod bearing tap, or what i think is a rod bearing so i shut it down quick and ill tow it home tomorrow and start investigating

sucks but this is the game we play eh? haha

Nooooooo!!!

Are you gonna pull the motor or try to find the faulty rod/bearing-and swap it out from under the truck ?

Matt there are hundreds and hundreds of people 'watching' you.....we need you to succeed....hurry the Fk up and be the inspiring force we NEED you to be!!!

2 weeks ago your transgo 4l80e video gave me the confidence to follow suit-
It took me 4 hours to complete but that's a easy example.....

Thank you for all you do-
MERRY CHRISTMAS Matt.

Sucks about the carnage Gotta pay to play!

Are you going to check/open the ring gaps since it's apart now?

I've got the same turbo, 04 lq4 and 4l80 going into my 79 camaro soo excited seeing these numbers!!! I'm using the small trick flow cam you used on that 5.3.

I love that you can laugh about it a bit. That also looks like the best case scenario for what happened. It could have been way worse.

Make a new feed, use the old feed as the return. Just make sure your flowing back to the tank through the fuel filter or make a new line from that point.

Does that ECU have a way to shut things down if a low fuel/oil/volt or high boost/coolant/IAT etc scenario arises? This seems mandatory IMO with a boosted motor.

yeah i plan on using the -6 bulkhead i have and run a complete new feed to the rail with no post filter (like there is now, the stock one) and check injector usage at that point

what i didnt see last time was on 19lbs, with the 3 port solenoid, i had an 11.80 afr, but injector was maxed out past 25.5ms, meaning injector was wide open, so i must have been running out of fuel pressure again. i just added 10% fuel and left it go

so this time when i made 20 it was already running out and with the extra duty cycle and boost it just ran short and dipped lean.

but as we know at that kinda hp level a stock hot piston isnt gunna last lol

the main issue here is i went against all my own advice but i did learn alot.
cant always be safe when pushing the limits
