I get the lean condition caused the issue, but there's a reason the "old school" guys ran big ring gaps with pump gas turbo setups. Just curious but did you check the gaps on the other pistons? How tight were they? Most of the time the ring pinches first and the piston ***** at an angle, then you get the melty looking crown from the added heat of the seized piston being shoved up and down the bore.

What are the specs on the new pistons? Stock replacements? Forged? Larger bore?

You try a few times, blow up a few pistons, then set it to kick in half a second before it blows.

Have you or has anyone tested the F-Body bulk heads for that same type of restriction? Do all Colorado's have this issue or do you think it was just yours? Just curious, I'm in the middle east right now and can't check this myself or I would. Thanks for any info.

I think it woul also depend on your tune and if it's on the ragged edge or not. The closer to the edge, the narrower the window for screw ups. IMO.

Sweet. what wastegate are you running on this deal? singe ebay? I'm going to do a 78/75 on my 5.3 since since the rad-hoe seems to be quite a beast. Side-note that should be the trucks name, just decided.
