I honestly figured it would be be same on low boost but really start carrying the power when you pour it on, I guess we will see how it does when I turn it up, for now I'm just enjoying having it move under its Own power lol

When do we get do know pricing on this s480 clone?
I keep thinking those legit BorgWarner s475's at $650 shipped might be a good investment....
And congrats on being back on the road!
Does sound great.....

I still can't believe they're going to be that cheap.

Does the clone S480 have extended tips on the compressor wheel? Need a dyno showdown between the real deal T6 cast S475 and the new S480.

I'd love to see that. I'd even kick in $10 to see it. If everyone watching did the same it would easily cover an S475.

Wouldn't it be more logical to test an S480 vs clone S480?

I think they're comparing turbos with similar cost, not size. I'd say an s480 vs the clone wouldn't even be close.

i started my venture into junkyard turbo ls junk a couple years ago after seeing the crap that you made work. i have now worked up to a fully forged 408 lq4 with a billet bw s484 on 23psi. (that thing makes some steam)

one of my combinations was a plain gen 3/4 lq4 with a cam and cast s480. that thing went like stink! untouched heads with a small tick cam, truck int. and a cast s480, intercooled no meth and pump 92 did 817 spinning the tires on the dyno at 15 psi.

if that knock off turbo even comes close to a real 80 mil borg, that truck is gonna grow wings by 15-17 psi! you should have enough fuel for it. turn that thing up and let it fly!

Excellent!! Your builds and your documenting of them are informative, inspiring, and above all, entertaining.
