I completely understand that now. The only thing I don't like, is the cost of that little gold box. WELL worth it for the $ it costs, for what it does, but damn, it's the most expensive part of your build probably.......even more than the truck itself.

Can you list who the DS guy is? I am going to be needing another DS for when my change happens. Keep up the badass work!

Not trying to step on any ones toes, just helping out the JY fellas. I couldn't believe summit sells Strange custom cut to length 3" chromoly driveshafts with the 3150 Ujoints for $250 shipped. Its the cheapest deal I've found on a quality shaft. Even our local shops charged more than that for a standard mild steel shaft without the U joints. Even for a JY build that's pretty dang reasonable IMO. Got mine in 3 days as well.

Thanks for sharing this! That is a great deal for a "custom" piece. Not everyone has a driveline shop just down the road.

You can also go straight to the Strange web site. I just happened to look it up as they are local for me.

Thanks for that. I knew they did it in the past, but then I couldn't find it on their site, so I thought they stopped. I guess I didn't use the right key word or something.

What do you like to use for a slip yoke? Got a link/supplier info? I looked in your parts thread before but may have missed it

the stock yoke that came with the 80e, we just cut the driveshaft off like 3 inches back, then take it with the trans to keep the fluid in while moving and installing the trans, then you press everything out and press it onto the completed shaft and viola! done

driveshaft installed! made trans cooler lines and tightened them down, just have to secure them then, had lots of trouble finding an adaptor fitting for the rear brake feed, going to try and find one more adaptor tomorrow or else cut the line off and flare on the explorer size fitting. (i hate flaring brake lines)
