My question is, should I get a cutout also? Am I leaving power on the table by NOT getting a cutout? Whats everyone's thought on that?
Not only are you leaving power on the table, by not having a cutout.... it will spool slower.

how big is your catback? im debating leaving the stock exhaust on and running just a Ecutout because there will be too much back pressure with the stock exhaust in boost im guessing.... my cats are deleted and i have a magnaflow muffler though

You will want a cutout for sure. When I had a 7875 turbo on my car I had 3" exhaust all the way out but had a 3.5" cutout under the passenger seat. With it closed it would make 10 psi on spring pressure and opened it would make 14 psi. Even if I turned the controller on with the cutout closed to make 14 psi it would still feel a lot better with the cutout open on the same boost level.

Its the Corsa so it is a 3" catback as well as my downpipe.

Next question... I have 3.73's in my Moser M9 from the previous owner. With a 28" drag radial,6600 rpm shifts, and a 4L80e im showing to be around mid 130's at the end of the 1/4 if I lock the converter.

Should I go to a 3.25 gear? I'd like the car to trap mid 130's.

I've had a 2.73, 3.23, 3.25, and a 3.50 in my car. I currently have a 3.50 in it and I like it the best for overall performance and cruising. I ran the 3.25 when I had the 7875 turbo and it went 142 with the converter unlocked. With the 3.50 and the S480 I have been 147 with the converter locked and had plenty more left. The converter did have to lock at 120 or so which was around 6300 rpm if I recall. This converter is way loose up top.

I'm leaning towards the 3.25 because I don't want to lock the converter. I really appreciate your feedback, thanks!

Huge day for me last Thursday, I finally drove my car! As stated before, this was the first time since 2008/2009 that the car has moved under its own power. PatG sent my tune file and it idles perfectly.

So we backed it out of my driveway and made 2 loops on my street and I had to add a few things to my to do list. We had the plug for the speed sensor on the 4L80 on the wrong spot so my speedo wasn't working and it wasn't shifting. Also, my alternator isn't charging for some reason. The other big concern is that my Waste Gate recirculation pipe hangs WAY too low. Does anyone elses look like this?

I am going to raise up the QA1's tonight and try and eye ball an alignment because it is absolutely horrible. Its so awesome to hear it run though!

That is great news, congrats to you as well!

I have no idea if this is normal, it will 100% hit if I go over a speed bump. Its about 2 inches lower than my downpipe.

We are actually doing away with the re-circ on all kits from here on out... makes installation easier and more adjustments for the end user. I do not think this pipe hangs too low to cause an issue but do understand some people like to slam their cars and it may scrape. In any event we will be doing the most recent kits with no recirculation as well as an aluminum cold side. So if you are in the GP I will give the you option!

I also want to add, Jon has been outstanding in this entire process. Answered all of my questions and has taken care of whatever small hang ups I had long after I bought the kit from him. I would 100% buy another kit from them in the future and recommend them to anyone that asks me.

Still having some trans issues. I have the speartech harness for the 4l60 to 4l80 and I need to know if there should be any voltage, key on, from the ISS to the pins on the pCM or are they used for grounding?

My car is in limp mode and starts in 2nd. Speedo is working FYI. Anyone know?

Sorry to hear about the trans issues you were really making strides. Any chance you have photos of your fans wiring? I am at that point right now on mine and really probably putting in too much thought trying to figure out how I want to wire them.

Hope you get the trans figured out so you can enjoy the car.

My good friend, who helped get the car done, wired up the fans. He said each fan has its own 40amp relay and automotive circuit breaker. The power feed for the relays to power the fans comes from the positive terminal by the fuse box under the hood. We spliced into the low speed fan request from the PCM at the same fuse box. That activates the relays to activate the fans. the fans only have one speed and are always on high.

Made a little more progress on the car last night. Swapped the Autozone reman alternator for a new GM unit. It started charging while in the garage, I pull out and drive down the street and now its not charging. I ordered a new connector and hopefully thats going to solve the problem.

Also, my trans shifted last night and will drop into first when I pull the shifter into first. Sometimes it starts in first and sometimes it doesn't. The stall is a 3600 and might just be more loose than I remember.
