Default ATTN: SDCE LS1 tensioner guys...info from Scott

Scott wanted me to post this info for all you guys with our tensioners for comparison purposes. We know not all of you have built motors and the ones that are built vary, but take this as food for thought.

We just got results from Marc's 94 Camaro Z28 that we put one of our LT1 tensioners on.
His stats:
383cid
AFR heads
custom rolller cam
1 7/8" headers
4" exhaust (no cat)
D1 w/ATI 3 core front mount intercooler
17psi @6500rpm's
3800# race weight
10.58 @128mph with 15% converter slip, street tune, set up conservative with lots of fuel and no timing

This guy has a different tensioner kit, but what's important is he has a blower drive ratio of 9:1, and the same blower impeller and scroll as a D1SC. You LS1 guys running a 3.4 pulley with our 7.25 crank pulley and a D1SC head unit should see A MINIMUM of these same results. You need to upgrade your intercoolers and you need good air filter inlets....
Bos and Buschman....Scott is finishing your tensioners today...I'll pm you guys just in case you don't read this...

Wendy,

You're off a tad on a few things, I'll modify the quote

That would be my sled by the way guys

Here's a video of the 11.06 pass @ 126.8 and a copy of the 10 second timeslips.

The converter is loose as heel, although it does come screaming out of the hole

Thanks again for solving my belt throwing issues

I stand corrected! LOL. Actually, that info was from Scott so I'll go give him 50 lashes for misinforming us!

Glad we were able to help! Keep up the good work and if you have any questions or need help with ANYTHING please let us know and we'll do our best to help in any way we can.

Kyle,
I believe the blower pulley is 3.7 inches and the crank is 7.625

I'm not sure what the max rpm is of the D-1, but I've been told I can spin the D-1 another 5000 rpm.

I'm shifting at 6400 and seeing 17 PSI

Marc,
Are you running the lt1 tomorrow? Supposed to be nice and you have that rain-check burning a hole in your pocket
I'm thinking that once Brads car starts spraying, we should have a GM efi shootout at newengland, include Smitty, Andy, and Curtis and we have a 6 car field, All running low 10's. Anyone else???????????
