Default SDCE stuff installed :)

Took me a few hours, THANK YOU very much Kyle for your help in getting me through the snags

I ended up using 2 spacers per stand off with a small one in addition, so its a total of 3 per stand off, but 2 thick one thin......

My current tension is close to 14.....I was suprised it was this low when I looked at it because I had a HELL of a time getting this 53 - 1/8 on the 3.4" blower pulley, its all on now though, the car wasn't used to the blower at all with the base tune it has for the 60's, it was cruise bucking and idling all over the place, I'm going in for dyno tuning on monday.......

All in all this setup looks like its gonna work, good belt wrap, haven't seen any belt dust yet, but I only drove it for about 5 miles, then brought it back home.....didn't stand on it because the tune has got to be not even close...

I think it has plenty of tension now, but who knows, if its slipping, I'll get it a little more snug......I hope it doesn't slip though

I'll keep you guys updated as things progress, and I'll get under the car and take some pics tomorrow and post up

It was actually tight, I had to move the tensioner back in the other direction after I set preload on it, its pretty tight right now and its right at 13 I'm guessing......I really don't want to wrestle with it anymore to get more tension, I'll wait for it to hit the dyno to see if it needs it.....

I hope all goes well though, I'm tired of always having to post bad news

It dunno what day it will hit the dyno, sometime between mon-wed

Well it looks like I will be doing the 3.4 install with the same belt, although I get the feeling its too big. But if you are getting it to work I will try it. If not I have some belt sizes here from dayco "polycog brand". I wish Gatorback made the 8 rib in the 51 52 53 in sizes but I can only find from 66in on up

I'll see how the boost goes with the 3.4", wendy I think is still trying to locate a 3.2" pulley, and I think a 52.5" will fit that perfect

Don't forget if you need more wrap around the blower pulley adjust the idler down more, this will also increas the tension. You probably already know this, just a reminder.

Yea, I tried getting it down by hand, but it wouldn't budge, the bolt is somewhat snug up agaisnt the spring tensioner, I had a hell of a time getting at it after I got the belt ran on the car.....

Now....

Can I put more tension on the whole setup through the spring tensioner now or no? Can I slip off the dust cover and put the tool back in and try getting more on it with the belt already ran?

Do any of you guys ever get the surging while driving?

If the weather holds up nice today I'm gonna take it for a spin and put some more 100 in it before it goes in tomorrow.......

Its almost as if the car wants to hesistate when its getting close to getting into boost? Is this in the tuning, when idling the car will go low to 500rpms, get stuck there and then come jumping up to 1200, idle real fast, then find its idle at 1000 again, then surge, it will repeat the process, kind of reminds me of when I was a cam only 6-speed untuned

Sounds like tuning to me. Don't get too anxious and get a heavy foot before its tuned correctly. You have already waited this long

Yea, it seems to be in the lower RPMS right now as soon as I get to around 2K...

The car from what I know just has a base tune for the 60 injectors, so I don't plan on letting it get into boost at all, I'll let it happen on the dyno so we can get readings...

Any info about the other question I asked?

I really don't know if you can adjust the tension with the belt on. I can't remember exactly but I don't think you have enough room with the blower installed to adjust anything.

I know I have to slip the belt off to adjust the tension.

I couldnt even do what jer did. I had to take the blower off the car to se the tension again if it was to low......... The tool would hit the rivits on the name plate of the blower. Last time i was on the dyno mine was set at 17....... im going to try it lower this time.... when i go with my FMIC and maybe a 3.4" pulley but i doubt ill need the new blower pulley after the new IC

Ok, just checking....

I think the tension is good where it is, this setup looks cool when blipping the throttle body blade, you can see the spring tensioner move to one side as the motor wants to go and takes up the slack.......hopefully this does the trick.....

I went and put about 6 gallons of 100 in it, my gas gauge still doesn't work, but I'm probably somewhere close to a full tank of 100......car cruises great, but when I start to bring it up it wants to hicup for some reason.......I'm sure we will get it straightened out once it hits the dyno

I wonder if the 6rib SDCE kit is better than the MMS crank pulley 6 rib...I have that now but still see slippage
