Default How much boost?

What can you run safely for boost on a gen4 stock bottom end? Right now I'm at 9-10 lbs on my whippled ly6.

There are a lot of variables. Two big ones being the fuel system and tune. If the fuel system was built for it, and you run e85 or use race gas or meth injection or have intercooling to keep things away from detonation, and the tune doesn't have much timing and isn't being pushed to an unsafe level, I'd say you are good for a few more pounds with some certainty of reliability.

Remember, you are making boost on a car with high CR and non-forged internals that was never designed or meant to take boost. At some point even with your current setup, it will go boom given enough abuse and time. But keeping things extra safe will prolong that time and probably allow for a little more room I would say. Its still a gamble when it comes down to it.

You're not anywhere close to having problems at 12 PSI.

Again, as it seems everything else is okay, I'd say you could probably turn it up to 12#'s and be fine. You could probably turn it up more than that, but I tend to be more of a conservative person as I don't like breaking stuff and fixing it, so I will stop at 12#'s as my "safe" reccomendation, lol.

If everything is kept cool, and you are running a safe fuel or have meth injection or are intercooled, you'll be fine.

Alky Control. I run 100% meth. On a 408 with a S480 pushing 19 to 20 psi.

It's an age old argument. I run a 50:50 water meth mix with 24#'s of boost and 1,008 RWHP and have good results.

There's plenty you can read about each mix on here about it. Honestly I think both will work fine. I feel like the straight meth will transfer to a higher octane while the 50:50 water meth mix is much less corrosive and offers more cooling protection (and is obviously cheaper). Just depends on what you want.

With a blower you have to remember that your making more power with the engine that what is showing at the wheels b/c it takes a good amount of energy to drive the blower itself. It probably takes a couple hundred horse to drive that blower, so keep that in mind.

What size whipple? Can run a lot more boost on baby blowers then a 4L sitting on there. With my LY6 and 1.9L blower I ran 16-20PSI without issue on pump gas and meth. Then I went turbo and it handled that fine too but over 20PSI I switched to E85.

What are the parameters for anticipating belt slippage? I assume size of blower/number of ribs in belt/size of pulleys are all factors.
