I have a 80E in a 99 f body. Just trying to see what trans cooler are you guys using to keep the temps in check. This will be ran without going through the radiator as this car will never see the winter. Any help is appreciated and pics even more! Thanks in advance!

I wanted to keep less heat up front so I decided to try mounting mine to the bottom of the trunk. I got a loose 3600 converter and cruising it never exceeds 170F. I hot lapped at the track and it reached 200F after about 5 passes. It's a power stroke trans cooler and no fan on it.

I have a Hayden 679 in front of the radiator on my N/A Nova with a tight 80e converter. Cruising around this summer in the Texas heat trans temps are 155- 160F at the same time my engine temp runs 200F.

I got one from the junkyard, and had some male -6 ends welded on. Bar and plate, from a ford econoline van. $17.
And it didn't get over 180 on this day stuck in traffic. Having it priority mounted (not underneath the car where the air is heat soaked) allows for a smaller cooler.

I'm running a b/m one with a fan mounted up inside the rear bumper with -6 lines and an air damn to help with flow, pretty good with street driving but the transbrake gets the fluid crazy hot to the point of spitting out of the breather, switched over to LAT transmission oil and temps much lower and no more spitting

I used Derale dual core trans cooler on my RX-7. 10x14.5. Mounted in the rear. On the Trans brake for about 3-5 seconds and at the end of the pass it's sitting at 210-220* I always thought that was kinda high and figured that trans cooler would do a better job. That's an oldschool Grandnational intercooler fan as well, known for putting out a ton of CFM.
The large china oil coolers seem to work really well. Buddy uses one on his TH400 and hot laps the crap out of the thing. Says he has never seen over 200*. Drops down in the 130’s cruising. I picked up this one to try on my next build. Hope it works that well! I grabbed some AN10 to AN6 adapters for $12.
