Cammed 5.3 with a billet 84/96mm at 15 psi. Do you really think that should be to much for this cooler? I guess you need a pair of promod turbos and run them at 5psi for this intercooler to work.

If you want to talk technology and transportation, I've got more patents, including for parts on your car....but it's a little above your IQ so you just go back and play with your toys and talk tough on the interwebz. I'm done with you.

You talking again?

Talks about patents but doesn't build or fab anything lol. Slaps a couple bolt on parts on a car and is a somebody lol

Not trying to stoke fires or anything, but OP this could be an option. Guessing the 1500bhp unit is using a Bell custom core. But it's interesting to see the size comparison!.....

https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...am-intake.html

As mentioned before the Garrett core has been proven to over 1000bhp in many cases!

Even that core looks tiny ! Ridiculously small air passage, although with the height at least it will spend a little more time in the core.

Why wouldnt they just build one the full size of the intake opening ? Or damn close to it ?

You do realize that has more flow area than the largest a2a core Garrett offers right?

I'd hope so

Given it's only about 4-5" tall...that seems rather hard to believe when their largest A2A has around 25" tube length 5" deep and some 12" in height.

Air is going to spend a hell of a lot more time getting cooled in the A2A than it is that tiny core.

Weak....I hope your tin can car gets more traction than your fingers cause the more you post in here the more you're slipping. You know theres a saying that says arguing with an engineer is like wrestling in the mud with a pig....sooner or later you realize they like it. Had i know it was this easy to get your panties in a bunch I would have done it years ago. Please keep us all in wait of your next epic post of the 1500 POS intercooler, just 1 question. Do your checks come payable from 417 or Little John?

We are talking flow area.... You said it looked like a ridiculously small air passage

I'd suggest looking at the actual cores before you think you understand something

Or do you wish for me to show you

And compared to the 5" wide 12" tall air passages of the largest A2A Garrett, yes that core does still look small.

Unless it's an optical illusion

What are the dimensions of it ?

Largest a2a is 5.1x12.7 =64.8" square..... But only half that is open to the charge.

So a flow area of 32.4" square
.
.
.
.
Now the 1k a2w..... 11.9x4.8 = 57.1" square....... But far more than half is open for the charge. Over 70%, I will measure exactly when I get back to the shop

So even at 70% that is a flow area of 40" square

the truck is fun, lots of bugs to chase for sure, but i used it to move and drag trailers around so it earns its keep. efilive is awesome, i have some k-types im going to start playing with, im not a native engineer but im learning. Im in the n merritt island area these days, doing the cape/nasa area for work stuff. prochargers are awesome, not much beats the sound of long tubes with some whistle.

Steve, is was using this as a representation of what a well known 1000bhp core looks like. As others have said the 417 core is SMALLER than this Garrett core.

This is the same core that's used in the GT500 and Ford GT (old one not new v6) engines to great effect. The ONLY core upgrade I have seen for them was from Kenne Bell and that was reputed not to be worth doing by many. The cores work VERY well and are the base for many of the 2-4000bhp cores out there.

Totally agree though, it would be nice to see what a core that was as big as the opening but the same thickness looked like. I'm guessing if you used the full opening and a similar thickness you would basically have what the Shearer Fabrication core is. And that's rated at around 2000bhp!...
