I work at an engine distributor for larger diesel engines. We buy from the factory and sell to dealers.
When an end customer calls us with an issue, we get involved. When one of our retarded dealers mis applies an engine, we get involved. When our dealers have issues, we get involved.
Not because we are obligated, but because its the right thing to do. We have a good reputation because of that.
And thats worth alot more then 1 or even 100 sales.
There are always 2 sides of a story, but none of that **** matters. Its about perception to other potential customers.
So even if EVERYTHING the OP has posted, including the data, is bullshit, LJMS and 417 still loses because they didnt get infront of this.
Had the car out to the 1/2 mile this past weekend and had an absolute blast. As usual, logged the runs. Spiking 24psi at the beginning of each gear and stabilizing around 22, I trapped 173.7mph on my 3rd and final pass. IATs only mid 120s on that entire pull 1st through 5th gear. I now have the ability to run any event I please, in any condition with no temperature concerns with the Shearer Fab cooler. Yet another data point for extended abuse.
I want to point out that I am STILL pulling inlet air off the hot radiator and the pre-cooler IAT sensor is literally maxed out at the top of 1st gear at 300*. The intercooler plain and simple is just dealing with the heat, and dealing with it WELL.

Glad to hear. Sounds like you finally got it setup correctly now, should have listed to the company you bought the 417 intercooler from to begin with. 😉
figures look great! What the temp of the water at the engine of the run? Be interesting to see if it hot or not. Guessing it's only going to be around ambiant at worst!

I don't have any temp readings in the tank itself. I hopped out and turned the pump off at thenend of the run and felt the water by hand. All ice gone, water still cold. Far from scientific, but it would have been nice and refreshing to drink! Obviously cold enough still to continue to cool the charge as you can see in 5th gear, IAT actually begins to *drop*. I'd say I could make a full 1 mile pass and still have temps under control. At that point the water would likely be getting warm/hot at the reservoir if I had to guess
gtistile, I highly appreciate all the hard work and data logging you have done for all of us in the search of good a2w cooler. Huge help and guide to save a lot of money, sweat and time.

I am really glad to see there is a resolution to this at least in the fact the op has a working cooler now. I will say this:
So 2017 Drag week, I went to the Gateway day. Walking around the pits area, I seen a s10 pickup that had a 417 cooler on it (at the time, I had JUST walked up to the truck). I seen the "driver" and said, "hey, how is that 417 I/C working out for you, I have read recently guys were having issues" He literally glared at me, and walked away, I was thinking, well that was rude. I walked around the truck, and wouldn't you know it was "their" truck. Had 417 all over the back window.

I would have said, imagine how much better it mite work with the Shearer fab on there?!?!
I registered on here for the sole purpose of thanking the OP for all the data on this 417 cooler. I started doing research on this just this week. As I'm building a 1200WHP Lotus Supercharged V6 that I've gone turbo on, and I'm using a Holley Hi-Ram topper on.
Thanks to those on this thread that saved me alot of BS. Even if there is 400+ good ones out there, the customer service was absolute garbage expected only of a chinese company.
I know that this is going to sound strange but have you considered reducing the flow. Slowing down the flow of water will give the intercooler more time to transfer the heat. Just a thought.

Having seen virtually no change in temp rise whether ice is flowing through the system, or the pump is off entirely and brick heat soaked that right there told me what I needed to know.... I've done as much testing as I'm willing to do to be frank. I simply don't have the means to continue doing field testing on this specific part just for the sake of having more data. I just want a fast street car

That's not how a heat exchanger of any kind works. Not a radiator... not a IC cooler... none of them. Very common "old school" myth though. You always want to increase flow in/out. Quicker you do, the the more efficient the heat exchanger will be.

The shearer unit works better even with zero water flow, intercooler pump off it still has lower IAT’s then the 417 ever did with any pump or line setup.
I did a similar test just placing an air/water core with no water hooked up. It dropped 50-80* compared to no intercooler, basically acting as a heat sink, however it would take a few mins cruising to cool back down. I then added a pump and reservoir, dropped another 30-50* with faster recovery.
