Default New Nova Intercooler

I can't imbed thanks to photo bucket-o-crap, but you should be able to see the attachment.

I'll install the grille and bumper etc tomorrow. Some trimming, ok, a lot, was required.

Ron

Yeah, I think it's going to have a positive impact, that's much bigger.

that is a big cooler in a nova. I think nova's are about the hardest car to fit intercoolers in. should keep it cooler. good job.

Was there a car behind that IC'er, lol-that is huge, is it a 12" high core, that should move some air, and hopefully not run hot at an idle.
Be interesting to see how it all fits, how it works. Starting a new build on a 74, debating an IC'er vs just a meth kit.

Looks good Ron. What are the specs? You had a treadstone previously correct?

12x18". 4" thick.
ETS core.
My IAT's were hitting 180, so this should help. And yes, I had a little 6x18 Treadstone.
I'm a bit concerned about cooling, but I have a 160 thermo, big radiator and pcm controlled Corvette/Camaro fans. I guess I'll be the first to know.
It's more race car than street car, so it's not like I cruise around in 100 heat. Although I'll test that.

ID1300's arrive next week. I'll be able to turn things up a bit.

Thanks for the imbed tip!

Ron

MORE trimming on the Nova?! There can't be much left! Or is the picture including whats left of the bumper and grill? Haha Should get a decent buck for the Treadstone.

Here is the final photo.
Pure stealth right? Ha!
But it fits.

The area behind the license plate is cut out and the plate spaced out 1/2" which should allow a bit more airflow.

Thanks for the comments!

I have no clue how to embed.......old fart, I forgot.

A little flat black on that lower tank and no one will notice, lol. Looks good Ron! Keep us posted on your results with IAT's.

Really nice. Bet that will be a huge improvement. I see the trimming on the grill. I had to remove similar areas of on mine as well. I saw a Nova the other day that had the front bumper opened up where the license plate is. Might be another option to increase airflow if you don't have to have front plates

Edit:. Oops, missed your comment about trimming around the front plate

In for results. Did you ever get good pressure drop data across the core of the old unit?
