Default Forced inductions or Reed with Work turbochargers?

Looking to get some advice on what turbo to put on my setup!
2003 Silverado full weight street/Strip truck!
5.3 3.800 bore wiesco boost pistons
Compstar rods stock crank
btr/ljms stage 2 turbo cam specs- 226/231 .605"/.598" 113+4
799 heads, 90mm intake
4l80e swapped with d1 brake circle d converter
4:10 gear. 93 and straight meth

Looked into doing maybe s476-s480mm billet wheel t4. I called forced inductions Jose recommended the s480 billet wheel 92mm t4 1.10 AR turbo standard cover priced around $1449. I also spoke with Reed at Work turbocharges and he recommended his S4-e 76mm billet wheel turbo 92mm 1.10 or 1.25 with race cover for 1450 also s480 is the same price through reed too! Whats yall thoughts on the 80mm vs the 76mm as far as spooling on this motor and power capabilities. Would a 80mm be super laggy on this combo? Would the 76mm make some nice numbers and times dare to say comparable to the 80mm? Would like to get the truck down in the low 10s in the 1/4 mile at full weight! Truck is driven quite often probably 4-5 times a week and taken to track few times a year.

Plus side to Reeds turbo is it has a racer cover vs the standard cover that comes on the forced inductions turbo but Jose said I wouldn't really benifit much with race cover on my setup. Both seem to be very reputable company's out there! Just kinda hard to decided between them. Would like to see some results with other 5.3 combos similar to mine with these turbo? And Work turbo, forced induction users experiences!

For what its worth. Ive ran the billet 76 from FI and the 84 as well. On the streets from a roll the 84 was noticeably laggier. The only thing that changed was the compressor wheel size. 96mm turbine, t6 1.32 AR on a 370ci ls.

On the transbrake I never noticed a lag difference between the 2.

Im going back to the 76 as the car is very fun on the street with it.

The fact it is driven more than raced, the smaller unit will probably make more sense.

Have you considered a 4L80 with a lockup converter, triple disk and more stall, more cubes would help with that setup as would the A/R choice, yet that limits power up top... either way enjoy that driver and have fun!! the 4l80 would provide an OD and keep the Rev's down when cruising, yet a built trans is never cheap... ;-)

The only way to get more cubes in a stock block is to stroke it. Not interested in stroking a stock block also not interested in doing a 6 bolt combo in this car.

It had an 80e in it 5 years ago. To build an 80 with a transbrake the way I wanted to, with a lock up converter... I could buy a new truck. The th400 with PTC converter has been flawless. If anything Ill probably put a gear vendors unit on if I stumble across a good deal.

I don't take the car on 500km drives and for the times I race it, it does well. th400 it is.

If you have 6 months to wait for a turbo FI is ok. If you not go somewhere else! My brother got a FI s476 that was all messed up after being sent back multiple times.

He returned the turbo back to the business that he bought from ( not FI directly ) and got his money back.

Chris @ CRT knocked out his billet 1.10ar s480 in 2.5weeks and should be here tomorrow!

What's the reasoning behind using a T4? Is hotside already complete? Having used a T4 on 5.3 then switching to a T6, the only way I went back to T4 is by running two of them.

I wouldn't hesitate to run the T6 76-84mm on a 5.3, the 1.1 and 1.32 housings both work well on a 5.3.

What does the truck weigh in at?

Not to get off track, but if the specs were the same, does a T6 sit higher than if on a T4 flange-the T6 is cheaper.
Stock 48's truck ran in the 9's, you might pick his brain

Mike Franke at Southeast Power is another BW supplier. I got mine from him a few years ago, and service was very prompt. The units I got were basically prototypes of the SXE that hadnt appeared yet, but proper BW units, not built by others.

Have room for a T4/T6 adapter? Believe they are only 1/2" thick, I used one swapping from a T4 88 to a T6 80.

What's full weight? People seem to claim everywhere between 3,800 and 6000lbs with those things.
