Okay... are you running flipped truck manifolds, how is the room for the steering linkage?
Lol this is the stuff makes me batshit crazy. I have 4 options:
1-Stock everything
2-Stock mostly + bump steer kit
3-Unisteer rack with factory arms
4-Smith Racecraft rack
Looks like doing option #3 which you have would be tricky with the engine in the car.
My plan is #1 right now.

That looks really good, how is the turning radius? I like this option the most out of all the ones I can do.
Is it: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/uis-8000770-01

I'm having problems opening up the instructions but if I can ask, does this one require cutting that smaller frame out. From what I've read the rack just uses existing holes. Honestly I am really digging this it's more what I want to do. Plus it's nice to get the steering box weight off.
This is what a guy on FB in my ls first gen swap group that I created said:
"I've seen this installed in a 69 Nova. It fits if you have the engine mounted toward the back.
It does not fit if your engine is set forward, as some kits do, to clear certain accessories.
The issue is the room between the oil pan sump, and the cross member"
Now I have DD mounts and have the engine set back in inch. So maybe that's good then?

Hellz yeah. This is what I want to do, big thanks!
I just have to figure out of that kit has the long joint like yours, I can follow up on that tomorrow, and if it connects to the raj joint or I need special parts.
The worst part of the install will be taking the stock stuff off. Last time I used a pickle fork I was ready to murder someone.

Yeah I could not line up any of the alignment shops that were suggested last time.
A guy on FB said he has this exact rack used, I'll follow up otherwise I plan to buy new, only way I'd buy a used rack is if it's low miles and get a good vibe, I'd need a call.
Thanks for your help Jamie.

Looks like the one you need. The only thing you'll need is the adpater to go where the rag joint hooked to the column. I didn't run the Unisteer linkage on mine because I already had a couple joints so I built my own. Confirm the part number and buy it IMO. Unless of course you'd rather order it and let it sit in a shipping container until November.

I talked to the guy with the used but nice rack in the pics, he was running it 'in a 67 Camaro with a BBC and a Procharger, car trapped 150mph. He's redoing the car LS pro touring and is going with power steering. But he's using the same oil pan as me, Holley 302-2. So the plan is he will check the fitment. My motor is set back an inch so I'm thinking it will be good. His setup has the linkage was splined for a factory column, so that should be good too.

Does the feel on a manual rack typically feel a little sloppy or loose?
I've got a manual rack in my 4th gen and it just feels kinda sloppy compared to my previous PS equipped car, never owned a manual steer equipped car before.
Just thought I'd ask and maybe its normal.

3 Window actually was the first guy to tell me about the Unisteer setup, then I found a '67 Camaro guy running one too who also drag raced his car quite a bit. There'd be minimal play because the steering shaft is splined to fit directly to the steering column, no more rag joint or anything. I had a similar rack in a 4th gen and it was tight.
