Default Rear mount T4 S475 input requested

Gathering parts to do another turbo build but this will be my first rear mount setup. I've done some reading and would like some input to confirm my game plan

goals are 600-625hp on pump gas. 370 motor next year and turn it up for 700ish

LQ4
LS3 heads/intake
Tick cam
4L70E
4k stall (will redo to 3200)

Turbo stuff:
t4 S475 with 1.10 a/r
2010 camaro exhaust manifolds
2.5 hot side merged together with single feed back to the turbo

This is where my question is. Should I keep the whole hotside 2.5" after the merge to the turbo or merge both 2.5" pipes into 3"?

I'll wrap everything to help keep the heat in but it seems really small to keep it all 2.5".

EDIT: adding some info from another build thread. Forcefed86 recommended 2" from the manifolds merged into 2.25" all the way to the turbo. great info for what that build was (5.3 gt45)

so maybe with the 6.0 go 2.25" off the manifolds and run 2.5" back to the turbo

Thanks
Mike

found his "saga" thread and in the end he went with 3" to the turbo with a quick spool valve. seems like the best of both worlds

I don't mean to sound like a hater, because I used to run a rear mount, but if you have the capability of doing a better system, why not do it? Even with heat wrap all the way back, I could pick up 3mph in a 4000lb car in the 1/4 just by doing a hot lap instead of letting the car cool. This should give an idea of how much energy is lost using that much piping before the turbo. This isn't even mentioning the drastic difference in spool times.

I don't have room for a traditional front mount. And there is a great place for the rear setup just above the rear end.

I'm waiting for the turbo arrive and if I'm lucky, it will fit next to the oil filter and between the frame rail.

If it doesn't fit there, it's going in the rear

I agree, some setups are just a bitch to make a front mount setup on. I still hope to on my truck, but I won't be surprised, if I throw in the towel, and do a rear mount.

If you are only aiming for 700ish ultimately, why such a big (external size) turbo? A 7875 or similar is smaller and easier to package and cheaper too I would imagine.

A rear mount s480 will be one laggy bitch lol. As long as you aren't looking to race it and just want power when you lean on it for fun while not minding the lag you will be ok
