Default Borg Warner twin turbo sizing

Hey guys, I could use a little help with choosing the correct size turbos for my build. Here's what we're working with:

-Iron block 5.7
-Brian Tooley stage 2 or 3 turbo cam kit (I could use some help picking which to go with too)
-Stock 317 heads

The car is a '93 Rx7 with a T-56 trans. I'm looking at the Borg Warner S300SX-E (I'm going with twins for packaging) but I'm open to other suggestions. Here's where I need some help. I'm not sure what compressor or turbine I should go with. I'm shooting for 600-700hp to the wheels with quick spool up. The S300s compressors range from 61mm to 69mm and the turbines are T4 inlets with either twin scroll .91 or 1.00 A/R or a .88 open inlet. I have heard that you can get a T3 hot side for the S300s too.

The car is going to be driven on the street primarily so I'm more concerned with area under the curve than peak hp. Hopefully I didn't leave anything out, and thanks in advance for the help!

-John

You could make those numbers with a single S300. I have a buddy that did 650whp on a standard s366 with a 5.3 and t56.

But twins look so cool! Good to know though! Thanks for the input! Any idea what size twins I should consider if those are too big?

You would be better off with a smaller frame turbo such as a "GT35" size or a 6262. They are physically much smaller and will meet your goals.

So apparently I need to go smaller... Does anyone have any experience with the S200SX-E turbos? 57mm compressor, turbine A/R from .83 up to 1.27 with a T-3 flange.

I have those on a 6.0 and they are good. The BW s200 turbine housings are slow spooling...spend a little extra if you get any s200s and get .63 AGP T4 housings.

The t4s spool faster than the t3s?

Doh sorry, the AGP .63 ARE T3 not T4. I had S200 51mm with the .63 previously and they made 740/810 on a chassis dyno, so if you find those a lot cheaper they will meet your needs.

If you're only looking for 700hp, a pair of very small S200's will be quite fine.

Hi, if someone likes Holsets, and wants to roll their own twin kit which would be a better choice for a stick shift L33 5.3 with 317 heads, a pair of hx25s or T3 flange hx30 's ?

I'm running twin s366's and shooting for 1200 rwhp on a 370 ls. Using truck manifolds and fabricated my own hot side . Still have to finish a few things but it should be done next week at the latest
