I wouldn't waste my money on treadstone, too many guys who push their setups hard report really high iats. My custom garrett core was $800 shipped all the way across the US. Chiseled Performance is the ****, you draw up any mounts, bosses or whatever and he will do it. Nothing compares to Garrett fin density.

Treadstone offer what they call an R rated core which I guess is trying to be a Garrett...but probably wont be.
Again, all depends how much heat is an issue, or flow is an issue, or both and your budget, size restraints etc.

Shearer is another well trusted fabricator etc who could build a complete unit, probably not at the cheaper end though

I might get away with the Treadstone because (1) I don't run real high boost and only 1/8 mile and (2) the front of my Nova is pretty open providing good airflow to the core. Not like the f bodys or mustangs. Just works for me. Thats just my opinion.

A few years ago I had a Procharger sheetmetal IC'er I used on an LS with a blowthru carb, as I remember it was like 1 psi loss at around 12 lbs. I remember doing some testing on another car, off brand IC'er, temps out of the Procharger were 330 degs, knocked down to 190 @ 18 psi after the IC'er.
In 40 deg temps last year, I made a couple passes with my turbo Buick, Treadstone 25 IC'er, IAT's were in the 140-150 range. I never checked psi loss, would have liked to. I kind of wonder if you have a large pressure drop, rem. the IC and reducing the boost to the same level you were getting the temps would drop just based on the comp. having to comp. less to get that boost. I would guess a turbo makes more heat than a Procharger, at least on low boost, might even out on higher boost. OK, to much coffee already, lol
there is definitely a difference between cheap cores and quality ones. anything that sees a 12psi drop should be in the trash lol

I know a guy in glens falls , he did my procharger race valve and flange . He does you buy the core and he makes the ends all the time . So if you want to go that route.

I highly recommend Treadstone. Give them a call, they will talk to you about their products in an engineering manner, not a sales manner.

Anyone used Treadstone and measured the IAT increase and boost drop? For a 1000-1200 setup.

I did back to back testing a few years ago with treadstone vs a garret core. The treadstone was junk compared to the garrett.

Heres the data.

Welp. The 1200hp treadstone is on backorder for 2+ months. Now I'm looking into their 1300hp one ( 22x12x6) that I've seen as low as $579. My main concern is room. I don't really have many options when it comes to re routing my turbo kit so it's gotta be somewhat close to what I had

I've also talked to people who have dropped iat by 100* going to a treadstone from a cx racing. Part of me thinks this will be enough since I wanna say most of my heat issues were from the huge pressure drop causing my turbo to make way more boost than it should

Thx Dbrods, I recognize your name from back in the day. My turbo fab buddy I know will push me to get a custom a/a using a Garrett core.

Also at 37psi I have zero pressure drop across the Garrett core.

My Garrett core coupled with cast ATP end tanks was around $700 after welding. If space and airflow is a concern like I assume it is on a 4th gen a more efficient core is the way to go.

I presume that's their 5.5" thick core ? ie the biggest they offer ?
