Default What's everyone using for an oil pan? Having pressure issues at the track

No issues cruising around but I definitely have sloshing oil at the track. I'm currently running the stock f body pan with as much as 8qts. I don't want to loose getting clearance of possible. Anyone try that autokraft pan?

I use Autokraft...but I'm certainly not a drag car.

When you say you have sloshing....what are the oil pressure datalogs like ?

Mine certainly isnt perfect under a variety of different circumstances. But nothing so far enough to cause concern to change it

A drag car pulling a lot of sustained g's maybe different though

Autokraft is a fairly good design though, decent collector and internal trapdoors along with the top tray bit.

I use the AutoKraft pan in my car.

It's a track only car. 60' is typically low 1.3s but I've had a bunch of 1.27/1.28 when on kill as well.

I logged my oil pressure among everything else. No issues. I spin my engine to 7600.

It looks like an EKG! Lol. How much oil do you run in it?

If you are drag racing and pulling quick 60ft's you need the pickup tube in the back of the pan. The improved racing baffle does not do that. You can modify stock tube and baffle to work or go with aftermarket that has the tube in the back. I use the moroso and it works perfect. Have data logs b4 and after. Big difference in oil psi stability through out the run

The Autokraft oil pickup is more rearwards than a stock FBody oil pan, although not right at the back.

I'd love to use the moroso 7qt but I can't spare the ground clearance.

I'm using the moroso hot rod pan that has the oil filter on the pan. It is slightly below my mwc k member. I will measure but I think it's around 1/2". Might have to get these in the future.

I use this pan...https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mor-20143

Have a buddy that uses a Moroso pan as well and his car is slammed. I didn't notice this being much lower than the stock Fbody pan either.

Strange. I can take some pictures of mine tonight. I won't have the smashing issue though as I leave off the footbrake, lol.

Edit: Just looked at the dimensions and the Moroso is less than a 1/2" deeper.

Can you use an F body windage tray with that?

A lot of happy campers with a baffle on the stock pan overfilled to 8 or so iirc. Take empty pan. lay flat, fill to brim, count cans, done

adding a baffle is no big deal. Trap door type. I believe the one linked above is what a lot of guys run

Speedway motors 7qt here. Fits in a 4th gen or anything else that's uses a F Body pan and is dead even with the K member in a 4th gen, you will have to run a remote filter though fed by -10 lines. Pan is 160.00 remote mount filter and lines are 100.00. Remote mount also allow you to run a larger filter.

I had the same issue with my F Body pan, cost me a couple sets of bearings and a few grand in machining all is good now.

I recently installed the Moroso 21150 oil pan kit and the Milodon oil filter relocation kit. Did have to clearance the driver side rack and pinion mounting bracket some to clear the pan. It comes with a new pickup tube and windage tray.

I too was having lower than expected oil pressure on my build when I used the Fbody oil pan with the ZO6 style pick up tube and the stock windage tray. Turns out the clearance between the pick up tube and the bottom of the pan was causing the restriction. Besides I wanted the extra oil capacity so it was a no brainer. PSI is around 50 at idle and near 60 when driving.
