Proof you can polish a turd.
Right now plans are to drop this in my son in-laws 73 Nova to see how fast he can eat thru tires. We put a NA 6.0 in it last year and he tore up the streets all summer.
Should have it ready to run on the stand in a week or two.
Before scraping and paint.

It might be getting this old mechanical injection if it's not to worn out to convert to EFI.
It came from an old Hot Rod Magazine cover car from 1983. Built by Wally Larson.

The reason I bought the engine is because the original shop that built it ran to much timing and also over tightened the blower belt, The end result was a broken main cap and wiped out Callies crank. The shop that built it and was tuning it when it blew up on the dyno didn't take any responsibility for the damage so he abandoned the build. That's how I ended up with everything.
I found a deal on a set of Katech billet mains ($200) that will also be pinned, Between the billet mains and a Callies Magnum crank and crank support I think it will be ok.
It's going to be a Pro-Street type build so it won't see a lot of sustained high rpm anyway. it made over 900hp at 5200rpm on the pull that killed it so I'll have more than enough power to play with.

It's all going to fit under the hood of my stock 1950 Chevy truck but the engine sits low and they have tons of room.
Your best option would probably be a Kenne Bell setup, They sit low and the throttle body and air cleaner are on the front or side instead of the top, The blower itself is also not as tall as the old roots blowers.
