I just prefer SD on a turbo car. If I ever had a car with the old ECM it would get Holley before the first drive.

Just wait till you get some oil contamination on your MAF from the remote mount turbo setup and you will wish you went SD from the get go. Seriously just use the 2 bar OS and you'll have just one high res VE to worry about.

I get it can skew the maf curve, but a front mount turbo can have oil in the charge piping and get on the maf too.....750whp on a front mounted maf car and no issues. I've got a wideband and keep timing conservative so I have faith.

Rear mounts are much more likely to get oil on the MAF and have oil control issues, it's just part of the game.

After I get a few miles on it and finish tuning I plan to pull a pipe and see if there is any residue in it. I actually feel pretty good about the oiling system now that the check valve is sorted. Also added a catch can to the pass side to hopefully fix the oil coming out the oil fill cap breather. Welded on the AN fitting to the valve cover and ready to go back at tuning. Also added another spring to the wastegate lol.

It's funny, I have considered just pulling the vacuum line on the wastegate depending on how much boost it makes

Extra spring in the wastegate is definitely making more steam....until it finds the weak link in the couplers lol. Ordered a 45 degree coupler that's longer, should fix the issue. Oiling is fixed, no smoking under or after boost and the car is actually hooking a 2nd gear roll shockingly. I do have the timing coming off pretty hard that's probably helping but it's good to be making boost again in an LS.

Oiling resolved. AN fitting on valve cover is welded and vent tube is going to a catch can with the valley cover.

Glad the car is running good. Something that I'm really digging about this pic is, the canister by the passenger side valve cover breather. Real street car here.

Thanks man. All the little bugs I'm working through are really no big deal in the grand scheme and just making it more reliable. Overall pretty happy so far. I have to confirm when couplers stop blowing, but I think the turbo is maxing around 6k. That billet 7665 may go on sooner rather than later

I just have a vented catch can. Running up to 12-13psi with no mess.

When I ran the valley PCV it really sucked oil, I switched it to the valve cover and added a oil/water sep, and a
check valve for the boost. I still got small amounts of oil from the VC, but minor. Using a butt mount turbo
really cleans up the engine comp.

Thanks, I checked the OCC after a couple pulls and cruise time and no oil in it, but I'll keep that in mind in case I run into a problem. The PCV fitting on the valve cover and valley cover are both baffled and have to make a 90* once getting to the OCC so hoping no issues, but will watch for it. Amen to the rear mount cleaning up the engine bay. It's weird having all this room up front and being turbo'd lol.

Congrats on getting it running well!

Thanks! Should get in that coupler and a lap clamp for the exhaust today. Hopefully make some more boost with it and see what happens. I still can't believe my IAT's aren't moving during a pull in FL summer lol.
