Default Recommended 408ci compression

Can recommend 408ci Turbo compression use?
Head is used with tfs 235.
Pistons haven't purchased.
I want to determine the compression first, before buying a piston.
Or does anyone know the safe value range?

Is that 98RON, i.e. 93 octane US?

I'd go somewhere in the high 9:1 range, maybe 10:1.

I would never build a motor under 10-1 again

If I use 10.3:1, should the effect be ok?

I'm going with 9.6:1 on my new 408 motor. Pump gas with 1000 hp goal. The higher compression could be made to work but it doesn't give you much room for error in the tune.

ETA: -15cc dish pistons and 70cc chamber

Ignore him. He doesn't understand how to build a boosted car or keep a motor together. Keep it 10:1 or less with that power and fuel.

You ran .1 quicker with h/c boost vs my bolt on na ls6.....wtf do you understand about anything.

Cylinder pressure makes power. Boost increases cylinder pressure. Compression increases cylinder pressure. No reason you can't have both.

I would argue you have a much better chance at 1200whp on pump gas at 10:1 than at 12:1. I don't think either one probably gets you there, but I think the 10:1 combo makes more than the 12:1 just by virtue of being able to add so much more boost at similar timing.

Its hard for some to comprehend power and weight and octane limitations. If his NA motor doesn't run 9s he should light the car on fire.

Trying to get to 1200whp on pump gas isn't a very wise thing to try anyway.

All your junk should be on fire. Nothing you ever built was impressive even a little bit.

There's no reason you can't if you spec the combo right. Let the boost do the work instead of the compression ratio. If you're able to, add a methanol injection kit for some margin. Hio just wants to matter so badly on here he comments on stuff he has no clue about. Ask if he's built a 12:1 turbocharged motor on pump gas. I block his comments and only see when someone quotes him because he's literally been laughed out of this section for spewing garbage. Even the SRK section is fed up with him. He shows no respect, so he gets none.
