Taurus Fan- E-motor temps?
My latest Dorman version of this fan seems to be junk. Curious if anyone checks their fans motor temp with a heat gun? It moves alot of air and it will take my car down to 179* on a 100* day. I have it set to turn on at 190 and off at 185 now. Lately it has been blowing the 60A breaker inline with it. I checked the wiring and plug and it's around 190*. That's hotter than anything around it in the engine bay. Including the turbo (blanket in place) which only registered 160ish. Also the back of the electric motor is sitting at 240ish. This seems crazy hot to me. It will be the 2nd dorman taurus fan to go out on me if this one craps. I have a BIG 100A constant duty golf cart relay wired to it with massive ground and power wires. Def not a wiring issue.
Any sources for better fans? Having trouble finding original taurus fans new. Any specific companies to go to besides Dorman? I'm convinced their version of this fan is junk.
Any other people have issues with Dorman taurus fans? This one did great in the cooler months as it didn't cycle on/off much. Now thats it's 100* it cycles quite a bit. Guessing it's about ready to die.
I've noticed the price varies a lot. Hoping I can just drop a better motor in place. I've glassed and made the shroud to fit my radiator. The 4 seasons motor costs more than the 4 seasons whole assembly as well. Not sure I understand that.

Whichever version you buy, write to the manufacturer and ask them the CFM rating. The Dorman is 2970 CFM on high. Another cheaper brand said theirs was 2710 on high. Pretty big difference. Nobody seems to know what the original OEM fan was rated at, but running the Dorman and the Ford fan next to each other, it seems like the Ford fan puts out a reasonable amount more, but it is hard to tell.
I paid $108 from Summit and Amazon was cheaper than that for the Dorman. Pretty good deal any way you look at it.
I'm wondering if any of the other knock off brands sold by rock auto or anyone else have better motors in them.

only see the dorman model on the website. And a "carquest" motor replacement with no details on manufacturer.
